Apple TV+ Being Rebranded as Apple TV

Buried in its announcement about "F1: The Movie" making its streaming debut on December 12, Apple has also announced that Apple TV+ is being rebranded as simply ‌Apple TV‌. A single line near the end of the press release states "‌Apple TV‌+ is now simply ‌Apple TV‌, with a vibrant new identity," though Apple's website has yet to be updated with any changes, so we're unsure on the details of the new identity. Apple's blurb about the streaming service at the bottom of the press release also reflects the updated naming.Apple TV is available on the Apple TV app in over 100 countries and regions, on over 1 billion screens, including iPhone, iPad, Apple TV, Apple Vision Pro, Mac, popular smart TVs from Samsung, LG, Sony, VIZIO, TCL and others, Roku and Amazon Fire TV devices, Chromecast with Google TV, PlayStation and Xbox gaming consoles, and at tv.apple.com, for $12.99 per month with a seven-day free trial for new subscribers. When I was a kid in Tampa we had a Democrat as gov who pushed through a state scholarship program and a children’s healthcare program (among other decent things). What I wouldn’t give to have that back.

The big boosters largely share his politics, which doesn’t help, but they wanted a real president. Santa Ono fit the bill. Strong background. President of another top notch public uni. He also gave in on anti-DEI warriors at Michigan. Still wasn’t enough for the biggest loons running the state.

They wanted UM’s president in part because he’s a sports fanatic. A good balance of academia, sports, and had already (sadly) demonstrated a penchant for placating the fascists. Still wasn’t good enough for DeSantis! They accused this guy of performing “genital mutilation” surgery on children.

The Napier thing has a lot to do with an unstable situation within UF. They wanted to fire him last year, but we had an interim president. We now have a *different* interim after DeSantis’s crazy ass board of governors rejected UF hiring Michigan’s president in May. It’s a shit show.
