she/her/hers. humble abolitionist. gardener. homeschooler. masker. social worker. romance reader. soccer watcher. perpetually angry, curious, grateful and in awe.
I feel humbled to have lived in the time of Alice Wong learning from her brilliance. My heart feels heavy in her loss, and dedicated to continuing to build the world she deserved. The world we all deserve. She was a wonder. From an accessible world to a free Palestine she pointed the way forward.

In the NWSL one would never mistake Rob Gale for a youth pastor, which I really appreciate. A lot of religious trauma gets stirred up in me with just a glimpse of some of these male coaches.

The NWSL rocks because of its diversity. Trans players belong here and always will. I bring my kids to games and expect this league to keep growing into deserving their attention and admiration by protecting, supporting, and celebrating their trans players.

I want a politics that widens the circle to include everyone, not one that shrinks the circle by throwing *undesirables* under the bus. I think this is basic. I am interested in a politics that is rooted at the sources of people's suffering. I am interested in a politics that attends to basic needs.

Wondering what the conversation looks like on NWSL teams, ownership, & the league office on how America going full fascist will impact our ability to sign/retain talent.
If I was a player with any marginalized identity I would be worried to play here. We weren't great before on this and now?🫠🫠🫠

I live in a purple state where all my congressional representatives are Democrats. I will never vote for them again due to their failure to use all of their power to stop the genocides occurring around the world.

We really need to talk more about how important it is to protect kids from Christian culture in the US. It is too often devastating to the physical, mental, and spiritual health of everyone but especially kids.

Openly up IG to see a pod save America host on a Zionist podcast is not what I wanted. I was looking for more of Blakely Thornton eviscerating guests of the Bezos wedding, but got hit with the reminder of how much Zionism is mainstream Democratic values.
Do better Pod Bros. Please do a lot better.

Goddamn this world for so many reasons. High on the list is the ongoing genocide of entire people groups while those in power try to gaslight us into believing otherwise or punish us into silence.

I haven't studied history close enough to know whether fascist, Nazi, genocidal leaders have always been this embarrassingly lame while being evil. Can anyone speak to this?

I spent Sunday night watching the entire season of North of North and haven't been able to stop talking about it since. In dark times art is essential for reminding us of ours and others humanity and worth. Highly recommend y'all check it out.

When you have spent over 2/3 of your life in church on Sundays, the absolute joy of each church-less Sunday spent in your garden is deep✨✨ Spending time caring for the only thing actually deserving of worship and service in this world✨✨

Watching Angel City vs Reign outside while we finish up inoculating these mushroom logs.
I've wanted to grow mushrooms for a long time and have been unsuccessful thus far.

Binged "Survival of the Thickest" last night and what a gd delight✨✨ The show is deeply good hearted and hilarious. Just like season 2, I found it invited me into feelings and healing in unexpected ways. I'm deeply thankful to everyone involved in it♥️♥️

I wish liberals were more upset about us bombing and killing people in foreign countries than they are about how bad at doing so the Trump administration is.

Fuck national security that relies on killing others for us to be "safe".

If Palestine is the litmus test everybody has failed it, so it's not a surprise the West is in a dire State. The same men bombing brown & Black people indiscriminately will also snatch your white elderly Mom's social security. That's why fighting for rights can't be selective. Everybody or nobody.

This Angel City vs Thorns game is hella fun 15 minutes fun.

It's really nice to be watching this game in bed instead of being one of these defenders trying to cover Alyssa Thompson. They are trying and failing often.

One way I am going to work on building support and community in my neighborhood is by starting lots of veggie and flower seeds so our family can host a plant giveaway/trade next month. I love to garden and thus it feels like the best use of my limited time and energy. Every small act matters.

I wasn't prepared for the joy I felt watching NWSL last night given *gestures broadly at everything*
But it was great. Helped by Orlando balling out in the extreme. Cemented by my middle child being so excited that she dug out her Washington spirit jersey & wore soccer gear all night long.

Remember when the Chicago Stars were Red (communists)?? Yet another example of how you go broke when you drop the woke NWSL.

Women's soccer returns in the US this Friday (NWSL), but I'm finding it hard to be excited about it with all the fascism everywhere.
