Censorship is so 1984. Read for your rights.

Today kicks off #BannedBooksWeek, and this year's theme reminds us that the right to read belongs to all of us, that censorship has no place in contemporary society, and that we must defend our rights.

Get this book. The facts are awesome. Or maybe not. You can't trust the narrator 😉
I was here for all of it.
You'll laugh & so will the kids.
Cover for Don't Trust Fish shows the words in large blue with skeptical looking fish.
Not what I was taught about free speech.
Just in time for banned books week...
A devastating ruling that potentially impacts both public and school libraries.

"If the collection constitutes government speech, then [readers’ and authors’] speech rights are not implicated…This is because when the government itself is speaking, it is ‘entitled to say what it wishes.'”

Jane Goodall lives on through her extraordinary work and legacy. There are so many wonderful books about this trailblazing conservationist. Here is one of my favorites if you want to share her story with little ones.

This is interesting—I see a lot of these tells in my work with writing scams, where the use of chatbots in scam solicitations and impersonations has become ubiquitous.
Wikipedia editors trying to fend off the onslaught of AI crap have crowdsourced some telltale signs of LLM-generated writing; it might be handy for editors and proofreaders generally. Thanks to @ellenrykers.com for pointing me to it. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikiped...
