Lilith, also a rescue from S.A.V.E.,who has not quite recovered from her early-life trauma, nonetheless has a Thanksgiving wish that you will rush out on Black Friday to adopt a homeless kitty or dog.

On Thanksgiving, Zanche is suffused with gratitude for the rescue facility that took her in as an abandoned young cat & saved her life. literally, the name is S.A.V.E. (Skillman NJ)
Zanche encourages you to give generously to the animal rescues in your hometown & to adopt your own rescue animal.

New Jersey turkeys have a "slightly coarser, grainier" meat than ordinary turkeys but the "frisson of carrion tang" in the gizzard has made them #1 Thanksgiving fare for discerning gourmets.

An older watercolour drawing from when I used to make frequent trips to sketch in London. This shows the Embankment with lots of pigeons, a pavement artist and a couple of Japanese young women on one of the benches. This was sold at an exhibition.

(sorry to ask a silly question but: why would anyone who knows better appeal to Grok, a concoction of a narcissistic multi-billionaire to support his world-view? like leafing through the Aryan Nation Handbook.)
I stand corrected - Turns out, Elon *did* have Grok reprogrammed to be his Emotional Support LLM, presumably in the aftermath of the narcissistic injury @joycecaroloates.bsky.social gave him

The level of hypocrisy they engage in is astounding and infuriating. It only works because we’ve allowed corporate & billionaire money to dominate the political process and thus control media content.

a genteel "humanistic" piety can appeal to some audiences, to a degree; but remains too abstract & divorced from history & science [Darwinian evolutionary theory examining the basis of ethics in primates would be especially useful] to have any actual effect.)
(it's an interesting question though not addressed here whether "humanism" in its rational, egalitarian, genteel form can even begin to confront the blunt crude amoral aggression of anti-humanism: fascism, totalitarianism, nativism, the dark underbelly of humankind's propensity for xenophobia,

blood-consciousness, so powerfully on display in MAGA-America; evangelical Christianity masquerading as religion when it is essentially political, & indeed rightwing politics fueled by hatred of the Other & a wish to do harm to opponents.

Bad Biden! we all remember when he called for his Republican critics to be executed! on social media he ranted, raved, blathered & bloviated 24 hours a day! he made billions of dollars within a few months of being President! he oversaw extrajudicial murders in the Caribbean! & that tan suit!
It is not treason or sedition to remind our military to follow the law and their oaths — it is patriotism. That Trump called for the deaths of Democratic officials in response underscores the need for such warnings.
