Friends are reporting they are having similar issues. Not good timing for Rogers
Really cool night for Sportnet+ app to keep dying. Not like it’s 400 bucks a year and the World Series
You absolutely send that guy in the 10th. Chill.
Hmmm, the colonel is in the house?

My book Live to See the Day is off to the printer and available for preorder. I’d love it if you bought a copy or spread the word. It took me around the world — and took seven years to write! Which is fitting for a book about things that might never happen. www.penguinrandomhouse.ca/books/645965...
Live to See the Day by Mark Medley | Penguin Random House Canada
An imaginative study of human nature, Live to See the Day is a globe-trotting exploration of what drives certain people to pursue a dream beyond all logic, reason, or reward.

Being a Toronto Blue Jays/New York Rangers fan has been pretty painful since 1995.

Learned that an anonymous outside expert on submersibles did an interview with the OceanGate Titan investigation, and they released a transcript, with all the names redacted. The first line of his first answer? "I'm sure you're familiar with my film Titanic."

What happens when a fandom obsessed w/ mass killers starts generating its own? Since 2024, the True Crime Community (TCC) has been linked to 16 school shootings/disrupted plots. Attackers seek notoriety, borrowing from past killers w/ a “memetic” twist. ISD analysis & what prevention requires below.

A warning I often repeat for those working with attacker manifestos, like the one in Minnesota: resist the temptation to seize on one element that aligns with your own political or policy concern and elevate it as the only motive.

Don't strip-mine manifestos to suit your current political project.

It’s funny, if it was a festival I’d cut it some slack and say it was A-OK, but call something a ‘stadium’ and I expect to be able to go to the bathroom/buy beer without leaving the place for a walk. Sound and sightlines were pretty good tho!
Oasis was fun but it’ll take the 1971 Rolling Stones to get me to go back to Rogers Stadium. Just the worst!
The last time I saw Oasis, Noel got jumped on stage and Liam was forced to defend his brother in public. Hope it goes better for them tonight.
The first Trump admin was supposed to be great for the punk songs but they didn’t really materialize then either.

Is there anything dumber than parking somewhat illegally because you want to be on time for the doctor?

Fascinating story by @tessowen.bsky.social on people trying to reconnect to their MAGA parents via book clubs. One woman promised to attend church if her ailing father reads 3 books. “It would be good to know that when I go one day, I’ll see my daughter again,” he says. www.wired.com/story/people...
People Are Trying to ‘Deprogram’ Their MAGA Parents Through Book Clubs
Divisive politics have led people to go “no contact” with their MAGA parents. Some hope reading together could help bridge the gap.
