Fixing the cost of living crisis isn't easy but it is fairly obvious how to make some progress:

1. Lots more housing > lower rents & house prices
2. Rejoin the Single Market > lower food prices & lower overall prices because the inputs to everything are cheaper.

“I think politicians are ignoring prices and bills and hoping we’ll forget about them and find something else to complain about…”

My report on how the flighty Westminster bubble forgot about the cost-of-living crisis, which certainly isn't over:
Energy bills rise while Westminster talks immigration
Why have our politicians forgotten about the cost-of-living crisis?

I’m delighted to be backing @joshbabarinde.bsky.social for Party President.

I’ve seen first hand how he’s reached out to connect with our young members at regional conferences and with university societies, and I’m confident his experience will help us grown in Labour-facing areas.

A whole regional mayor elected on 25% of the vote with 30% of turnout (that’s 7.5% of the electorate).

Today’s election results should mark the end of First Past the Post in the UK - it’s time to @makevotesmatter.bsky.social

With Ed Davey beating Badenoch and Farage but not Starmer on this poll, this seems like the perfect time to plug the article I wrote for @libdemvoice.org yesterday.

Of course just some personal thoughts I wrote at midnight, so feedback & discussion welcomed.
