Sheet pan dinner tonight. Can someone tell me what the natural predators are for acorn squash? I could barely cut it open to make this dish of squash, brussel sprouts, and sausage. 🍽️ 🍜

On a sheet pan are chunks of squash, halved brussel sprouts, and chunks of Italian sausage. A few sprigs of rosemary are strewn over the food.

The food, now served on a white dinner plate. Behind the plate is a bottle of crane's winery white merlot 2024. It isn't the best bottle of wine you can find, but Crane's in Fennville Michigan has a special significance for us.

I know the weather has turned colder, but there is still time for dinner salads like this one. Blackened steak over spinach and arugula. Cucumbers, tomatoes, and blue cheese dressing. Some fried shallots and crispy jalapenos for garnish. 🍽️ 🍜 🥗

Puca is not being TERRIBLE but she needs to be sedated for a proper exam. That, vaccinations, some labs, some antibiotics, and a steroid shot came to 495.

Had our son and his fiancee come over this afternoon to help make vegan tamales. Just dropped them off at home. We made enough to eat tonight and to freeze for the holidays. Soooo many dishes to wash, even though we cleaned as we worked.

It was a thin crust. It didn't take long to cool enough to eat or to be eaten.

The hardest part of making a pizza is waiting for it to cool before eating it. 🍽️ 🍕 🍜

On a cooling rack a rectangular pizza is waiting to be sliced. The edges are wavy. The pizza is topped with full tomato slices and bits of fresh basil. Cheese has melted and browned. Below the cooling rack is a sheet pan with a silicone mat that were used to cook the pizza. Thanks for helping me wait.

Tonight we had the beef stew I made last night. Mixed baby potatoes, beef, carrots, onion, garlic, wine, beef broth, and spices. Strayed just a bit from the recipe, especially since I was using about half the beef the recipe calls for. 🍽️ 🍜

We picked up some Peri Peri seasoning and today I used it for the first time to make this dish: Peri Peri chicken thighs over basmati rice. Garnished with cilantro, fried jalapenos, and chili lime dried cranberries. A slice of lemon on the side. This was tasty. 🍽️ 🍜

I made this blackened salmon with shrimp. Over sliced baby potatoes and a side of broccoli. All of this was cooked in the same pan in different stages. Potatoes first, then out of the pan, then broccoli, and out it comes. Salmon and shrimp. Shrimp came out first. Garlic butter sauce then combine 🍽️ 🍜

On a white dinner plate: blackened salmon and shrimp over the little sliced potatoes. Broccoli florets and sliced stems at the back of the plate. All of it drizzled with a garlic butter sauce that is colored by the blackened seasoning.

The recipe is here veenaazmanov.com/slow-cooked-.... I didn't have hot paprika, so I substituted a tiny bit of smoked paprika alongside powdered cayenne and I hope that counts. I cooked it for about 2 hours on low in a Dutch oven. I started with about 1 3/4 lb of beef before trimming.

I cooked this beef stew a couple of nights ago because I knew I wouldn't have the time to do it tonight. It is a Moroccan beef stew with dates served with an instant couscous. Rosemary and sea salt crackers to help push things around. So tasty. 🍽️ 🍜
