I loved working full-time on @vite.dev hired by StackBlitz. High praise to companies hiring OSS devs!

But as I did when starting @vitest.dev with @antfu.me, for this new community adventure, as project steward of @npmx.dev together with @danielroe.dev, I'll be going independent. Here we go again ❤️
We have a unique opportunity with npmx. We're building something very special together. I want to give myself the chance to focus on helping steward the project. I'm going to be working as an independent open source developer this year. Support my work and help me focus on npmx long-term 🙏

We were invited to attend a freestyle windsurfing demonstration. It was wild! These stunts were incredible, even in relative low wind speeds!

Today we volunteered in preserving the coast line of Bonaire. Together with 20 something volunteers we planted a lot of baby mangrove trees. These will root and will shelter the coastline as well as serve as a nursery for aquatic life. It's also a huge absorber of carbon. 🌱
Multiple eco wins! 💪

Fun isn’t a distraction from learning, it’s how we learn best.
The web is still a playful playground: open a text editor, try something weird, learn something new.

Let's all keep the web fun, weird, and wonderful!

Last year we bit the bullet and chose for better work/life balance. Time spent and people met during summer on #Bonaire sped this up, and now we started a new adventure: working remotely (and part time) from this tiny Caribbean island. More family time, more outdoor life, and doing work we enjoy.

This is a new sort of post for me. Trust in OSS is a thing I care a lot about. This post is my attempt to frame AI slop PRs as an attack on trust in open source.

Started my new role at Tapp today! We're going to reduce e-waste in the global supply chain by offering data loggers that are recyclable all around the globe 🌎♻️ A new role with a (small) positive impact on the world. Excited to be part of this scale up. 🙌

Did a guest talk on "AI, what's under the hood?" for six graders. Boy was it fun! Lots of questions and good back and forths on the risks, how it's used and how to (try and) use it safely.

This was an absolute blast! Healthy critical audience, and super bright!

What little CS knowledge I have was hard won over a long period of time. I still don't really care for it, except where it's pragmatic enough to help me make better decisions while I work.

If you have a similar background to me, this article is your shortcut to more intentional programming.

I am looking for a full-time job.

Being independent in open source for 3.5+ years has been wonderful. I've gotten done most of the high-level goals I wanted to, and miss having people & structure around me.

If you know of a role for a staff-level TypeScript+web developer, let me know! 🙂
