I wrote about Inglourious Basterds.

How it's themes of blending in, standing out and moral flexibility and inflexibility may be hidden in the subtext. But they're there. And that's why the movie has stuck with me.
Two Basterds walk into a bar…
Two men emerge from the mountains to do a job. To defeat their nation’s enemies. One from the Alps, one from the Smokeys. They both enter a world where everyone must pretend to be something they’re…

Im talking about appointments to the metro board of which the mayor is a key member. I dont trust that board members take metro issues seriously, in part because most of them drive everywhere.

Again, im being hyperbolic.

Im being hyperbolic, but i think it speaks to all of these contracting issues, & issues with HLA implementation. We're way behind on the D line in part because of the division 20 being designed for light rail, & the LAX people mover has been pushed back a year

Need to take these delays seriously

i saw this movie instead of going to prom. one of the best decisions of my life.

this is a disaster. We need a new mayor to clean house and get these projects done quickly.

Metro now expects the Wilshire D Line subway extension section 1 (from Koreatown to Beverly Hills) to open by March 20 2026. See thread for links/details.

Repeat: Metro expects the Wilshire D Line subway extension phase 1 - from Western (Ktown) to La Cienega (Beverly Hills) - to open by ~March 20 2026.

i guess Snell's game 5 and Yama game 6 then?

I personally think they should implement full pricing in the mountains, and along the 10 when the sepulveda line, D line, and Venice BRT (or rail) are implemented.

I get it's hard to get to get to the westside without the 10, but full congestion pricing should be implemented there eventually.
jonathaneby.bsky.social
Do you know how he is on transit and congestion pricing? The D line has been delayed again and LADOT has been slow rolling HLA.
jonathaneby.bsky.social
apparantly the D line is pushed back to January or February. We need a transit mayor. We need to clean house.

There should be a trollybus network around DTLA and echo park. With a line going to Dodger stadium.

Need this for LA

Trolleybuses pull power directly into efficient, hill-climbing engines without need for massive, pavement-crushing batteries. Next gen trolleys with in-motion charging offer significant off-wire travel, allowing incremental wire extension. SF and Seattle partnering:
