Has Canada not heard of induction stove tops?

We are in our 12th and final self contained accommodation of our Canada trip, and not one place had induction stoves. In our recent stay in France, Spain, UK 2 out of 3 properties had induction stoves.

These old heat ones are sooooo slow to heat up.

Ski lift lines in Niseko on a pow day are the exception.

@ryanbiddulph.bsky.social hey Ryan - I didn't know you were over here.

How you doing?

Today was a travel day, we drove the 200km from Courteney to Ucluelet on the west coast of Vancouver Island. A beautiful drive through mountains, forests and lakes. We arrived to more perfect blue skies and calm waters. Seems much more laid back over this side of the island.

All across the public wharves and jetties in British Columbia we have seen these free to borrow life jacket stations for kids. Always stocked up as well. Great initiative.

Ah, I see. A little too much belief in her fellow Facebooker fantasy spreaders 🫠

I'm glad she is enjoying the food!

Food looks great. Did your mom like it?

I've been trying to interpret your comments on your mom - is she like a really anxious person that loves / needs her distractiosn, or is she a bit 'alternative facts' and you are trying to distract her from that?

It was brisk 😃 - we to wear everything warm we had. But it was beautiful.

The skies stayed blue all day and there was virtually no wind. When we came down from the mountains we enjoyed a late afternoon stroll around Comox in the sunshine.

After a little while, the frost on the ground cover melted off revealing the beautiful colours of the alpine meadow.

Our morning hike started at 1100m elevation with a very chilly -2°C - overnight there had been some snow and the boardwalk were crusty, the fields were frosted and the ponds iced up. The sky was blue, sun came out and it was a gorgeous day.

Oh cool. We used to live on the Goldie. Burleigh Heads is one of our favourite places on the planet.

Have a great time.

Lorikeets are such fun, noisy, playful trouble makers! That's a great photo.

These two wanted to see what I was up to when I videoed a bunch of them and somw kookaburras hanging out.

Ah that's sad 😔 - but I'm sure it will warm up for her soon. Canadians seem, at least from an outsiders perspective, quite cold to start, but warm up over time.

Some early morning ice crystals on the bridge hand rail.

Churches in Iceland can be a fantastic photography project. This is my favourite one:

Bruges, Ghent, Brussels. Didn't make it to Antwerp that trip.

A fun read. And sums up the parts that always amuse me about Columbus, that he never set foot on mainland North or South America, and to his dying day still held onto the belief he discovered a western route to the East Indies. Not such a great man to venerate in my opinion.

We enjoyed exploring around from St John's - Signal Hill was a great walk from talk, and Quidi Vidi Villave was a charmer (and I love saying that fast 😀).
