I think that the general shittiness, and profound limits that The USA's capitalistic economy represents to the majority of citizens, fundamentally is the reason why many enrolled voters feel apathetic, defeated, unmotivated to vote, & thus DON'T actually show up to vote, even during major elections.

It would also involve doing away with various other social programs like social security etc. It would never happen. The only way to truly make it work is to properly tax billionaires at the same rate they were taxed from after WWII to the 80's when Reagan fucked it all up. That rate is 44%-50%
