Irony: People saying the BBC is biased towards the left when a big part of why they’ve all been radicalised to vote Tory and Reform is BECAUSE of (yes you guessed it) the BBC’s right wing bias.

Couldn’t make it up.

Thicker than a submarine door.

Whoever wrote this, you are a visionary.
All social media should come with a 'no politics or culture wars' toggle, so it just shows you benign chatter like what's on TV and GIFs of cats.

“reader interest in stories they’re never told is low”

See that’s the difference between influencing and journalism
Following the trend/bringing the story to attention
“The sad truth is that reader interest in African stories is very low; whereas in Israel and Gaza it is high. Data analysis allows media outlets to count these views and clicks very carefully — and take them into account when deciding whether to commission expensive foreign assignments.”
This is a really good piece from @joshglancy.bsky.social. Far from “whataboutery“, it’s a genuine attempt to to wrestle with a disturbing and peculiar feature of contemporary politics, namely “why is the world quite so obsessed with Israel and Palestine?” www.jewishnews.co.uk/the-world-wa...

Why does it take a BRITISH newspaper to break a story like this? Where the hell is the American media? 🤨

Just had the craziest idea. Try this on for size: any country which wishes to reduce the quantity of compulsory daily mass-shootings could make private ownership of firearms illegal. The UK did it after that Michael Ryan dude. I bet it would work elsewhere, too.

In case anyone’s wondering how Mr #Trump is regarded in Britain.

It’s clear that the main goal of the Maxwell interview was to get her to say that she didn’t see Trump do anything wrong.

Which can only mean that there is something in the files that suggests that he did. Why else would she need to say that?

The interview is more incriminating, not less.

I’ve never read such pure poetry
The worst invention in history is the mechanical metal plug with opening lever, as used in modern bathrooms. They always break, and even when they work they are less effective than a simple rubber plug on a chain.
