Post-truth is pre-fascism. Timothy Snyder, On Tyranny: Twenty Lessons from the Twentieth Century
Posts Media Videos Starter Packs
The fallacy is believing that responding with decency and respect to fascists does anything but embolden them. Uncomfortable truth, but still true.
Same. They're bought and paid for by the regime.
Me: "Then you're a moron. Enjoy unemployment."

On Sunday, I wrote at Law Dork:

”Looked at clearly, there can be little doubt: Donald Trump wants to, and is working to, destroy the rule of law. … The legal community needs to get its act together. Now. … There will be no law firm business to save if Trump is allowed to render the law a nullity.”
Donald Trump wants to, and is working to, destroy the rule of law
Attn, BigLaw: There will be no law firm business to save if Trump succeeds. Also: DOJ is planning Second Amendment litigation. And, for paid subscribers: Closing my tabs.

I know it bothers you as much as it does me that journalism as an institution can’t process that what it’s seeing on a daily basis is evil people doing evil sh*t

Not incompetence, not naivete, not negligence, not mispeaking, not mixups, not miscommunications: straight-up evil people doing evil sh*t

Dear American citizens, whatever you wish more German citizens would have done in 1933, do that now.

Really feel like I’m losing my mind: government OBVIOUSLY cannot punish an individual law firm for hiring someone it disfavors! It’s ludicrously unconstitutional and I feel like without a day of law school I could argue the case. And yet the best paid lawyers in the country are folding?

It's critical for everyone to remember what an Executive Order is. It is the President communicating orders to members of the executive branch. Policies to pursue, actions to take, etc. They are not laws. They are not close to being laws. They are formalized memos to employees. That's all.

The fact that a reporter was inadvertently given access to this in real time shows that Pete Hegseth & the rest of this crew are bumbling incompetents who are going to get a lot of intelligence officials and others killed at some point. www.theatlantic.com/politics/arc...

The next phase of our walk to autocracy is that they will go after the courts, deny their legitimacy, attack judges personally, and openly defy and ignore court orders.
Just bought it. Can't wait to read it.

I'm fully convinced that the only reason the vast majority of Trumpers still publicly support him is that they can't simply admit that they were wrong.

They're willing to let this nation die on the altar of their egos.
And the others are even more insidious.....everyone knows what they are getting with Fox. The others have a veil of legitimacy while subtly normalizing fascism and Trump. The worst part is it's a conscious effort to be on the wrong side of history. It's no accident.
The media oligarchs are too busy being Trump's loyal supplicants to worry about truth and justice.
