My talk from @sync_conf 2025 is ready!

Check it out to learn how:

1) CRDTs + cryptographic permissions work
2) @jazz.tools is now a general-purpose database
3) our unique Jazz Cloud infra compares to
- traditional stacks
- other sync engines
- Durable Objects

For now, the new UniFFI RNCrypto is opt-in (see instructions below), but the perf improvement is so impressive that we will roll it out as the default once it has been proven in a few adopter apps.

If you are trying it in your app, ping us on Discord!

Jazz 0.19.0 brings our high-perf Rust core to all Jazz environments:

- Browser/workers via wasm-bindgen
- NodeJS via NAPI-RS
- *New*: ReactNative/Expo via UniFFI

In the future, we'll offer idiomatic Swift, Kotlin, Go, etc. bindings as we move API-level code into Rust as well.

Swapping Dallas Green for a female vocalist works really well for contrast.

x.com/panchito built a _really_ slick looking Github file viewer clone that fully uses RSCs and new React features, as well as making smart use of modern CSS. Great writeup on the implementation:

I tried browsing the React repo example and it's _fast_! Really impressive!

Asked ChatGPT which of my dried herbs would go best with boiled potatoes.

“Dill — *do not use here*; dill plus pörkölt = strange, sour soup vibes.”

Clearly ChatGPT has not been trained on the Runet.

LLMs are exceptionally powerful tools for humans to talk to computers with.

But life is about people. Emotion, creativity, connection. I don’t want to live vicariously through an avatar that sounds almost like me.

“I do not care what the linguistic remix machine juggles into being.”

Apple Music’s DJ mode is surprisingly fun. Hearing songs speeding up, slowing down, pitch-shifting, and skipping intros is pretty impressive. Obviously not as good as a human DJ, but better than just going one to the next.

@kde.org couldn’t find your website source for a PR, but you’ve got two columns under “How you can help”, where the only item in the second is a photo of a chap holding a banana like a telephone.

🍌 📞 🧍‍♂️ aside, it makes the text quite tough to read, any chance you could switch to columns on mobile?
