ICE detained an asylum seeker with no deportation order who had just had a C-section, has Type 1 diabetes, and whose newborn was in the NICU, without giving her any medical care, a breast pump, anything. What is the point of this

Her baby was in the NICU. She was in ICE detention.
Before Trump took office, postpartum immigrants were rarely detained by ICE. Nayra Guzmán was detained while her 15-day-old baby was in the NICU.

Also, can I tell y'all, I genuinely did not know that "inflation fetish" was a thing until people started yelling at me about the Fartacular. I was working off the long-running gag of Plastic Man turning himself into women's clothing cuz he's a perv. Literally, I did this as a costume 15 years ago.

The thing about writing comics is, you watch TV shows and movies, and analyze their techniques. You think, "I want to give my characters that kind of arc. I want to dive into their trauma and relationships and growth."
And then you remember you have 20 pages per month.
