She was the best of New Zealand and the fools replaced her with racists and fascists personified by Luxon! #nzpol

Thinking of countries as companies is deeply, perniciously, stupid. It's also very dangerous for democracies as Musk & all the other tech-bro billionaires seem determined to demonstrate.
“America is deeply unprofitable” it’s a country not a B2B startup you fucking dweeb
Yip, thats my thinking too. Posting is bloody hard these days, but doesnt mean there arent equivalent alternatives that dont involve a polling booth. For example, we only have 2 supermarket chains, get them both on board to accept ballot forms in a special "post box".
Don’t forget Willis. She’s in same boat as the Bish tho, too much centrist and they’d be worried about bleeding more to Seymour. Bring back Collins I reckon 😂
yeah bro, I'd put me some moola on that :-)
having said that, I'm personally hoping they stick with him as having him head up things next election is probably only going to bolster Labours chances!
sigh.. i keep saying it but its true. you cant make this shit up...
8 year old may be being generous to be fair, but I think that's what appeals to my juvenile sense of humour. Also I am pretty convinced this must be all a weird dream and I will wake up soon, as no way could the USA be led by someone like Humpty Trumpty... right?!?
Dunno why but I actually find it hilarious that Trump keeps calling Trudeau "Governor" :D
Interesting proposal on extending term to 4 years. Seems a little overly complicated to me and potentially rife for a government to game it a bit. But we will see (ht #120aotearoa) #nzpol
100% agree. Also "unskilled labour" is a fallacy. Just because you don't need a formal qualification doesn't mean it isn't skilled. From experience, a skilled labourer or checkout operator is worth 10 unskilled ones. We need to respect and value all workers in society who add value.
Essential workers deserve a Living Wage.

The Living Wage means thriving not just surviving.

The 2024/25 Living Wage rate is $27.80, read more about the current rate here: www.livingwage.org.nz

Is Brian Tamaki triggered by something? His reaction to a bunch of people being themselves and celebrating is weird. If he wants to “man up” do what real men do - show compassion respect and love with strength and determination. Not engage in violence and hate against weak, vulnerable and young.

Real men don’t barricade women and children. Real men don’t threaten and intimidate. Real men don’t preach hate. Real men DO show respect, compassion & love. Real men are comfortable enough in who they are to celebrate the diversity of others. Brian Tamaki you are just a boy.

Another reason why the deluded (aka cookers) should not be allowed to contradict science.
Also, why do we allow such a small percentage of elected officials have such a disproportionate effect across largest swathes of society?
Piss off Winston.

Simeon Brown voted against end of life choice & medical cannabis for terminally ill patients. He also implemented policies that cost tens of millions of dollars, and ignored all warnings and evidence his policies would increase Kiwi deaths.

So what's he doing managing our Health portfolio?

Simeon Brown Ruthlessly Executes Health Privatisation
Health Minister Simeon Brown implemented ideological changes as Transport Minister that contradicted research and predicted to lead to more Kiwi deaths. The anti-abortionist now runs Health.

Haven't seen this reported elsewhere and it needs to be widely known/reported. Shocking drop in a short period of time.
NZ has yet again slipped in the latest Transparency International Corruption Perception Index released tonight – declining in score from 85 to 83/100, and dropping in the rankings from 3rd to 4th. NZ used to be #1. The trendline continues downward as seen in this graph showing NZ’s ranking over time
I know right! Frustrating how governments love to take credit for good stuff someone else did and blame "last lot" for the bad. TBF both sides do this, but I reckon you either got to own it all or none of it... but that would be too close to being honest & having integrity for most politicians!
Yup. I have no doubt your innate doubts are bang on. In fact I have very strong feeling the strategy has always been to (a) get the fugly stuff out and done in the first 18-24 months, (b) hope global economy sorts itself out and we benefit, and (c) coast into the election claiming credit
Still a long way to go before the next election but things not looking hugely bright got the government at this stage... #nzpol

Sweden loosened controls on semi-automatic firearms in 2023. Two years later they suffered a deadly mass shooting by a licensed gun owner. Now they have to ban them again. Tell Nicole McKee we can learn from Sweden's mistakes. www.guncontrol.nz/submission

Solar friends … are there companies (SI) you’d recommend who don’t use Tesla batteries?
Aaand do you know how strong a roof needs to be to support the panels? The beloved is convinced they are very heavy.

@rawiriwaititi.bsky.social this page does not belong to me. If you have befriended this page please unfriend. It is an imposter!
Great read from @bryceedwards.bsky.social on the RSB, highlighting prioritising private property rights over the public interest really favours the (already)wealthy minority over society as a whole #nzpol
Today, I'm launching an exciting project: The Integrity Institute, an organisation dedicated to scrutinising and challenging vested interests in NZ politics. My first analysis piece on the Government’s Regulatory Standards Bill was published in The Post. Please let me know your thoughts! Or re-post!
It’s subtle only in that mainstream voters don’t see it happening, which is the (evil) genius of it. Coup occurs and no one sees it until it’s done.

I’m not on the Atlas wagon but get it. I reckon it’s a neo-liberal takeover by the elite with goal to hold power by suppressing dissent from masses
Great example of Seymour's powerplay. Most focus on the legislation being passed, but power over regulation (standard bill & ministry) and controlling political narrative (treaty principles) are way more influential in the long term! #nzpol www.henrycooke.news/p/david-seym...
David Seymour's subtle powerplay
The soon-to-be deputy PM has already made a crucial win behind the scenes.
