Another quote from the article that jumped out to me: “I get fists waved at me . . . I’m getting honked at or yelled at.”

I had to backtrack to confirm this was from a driver. Anyone who bikes experiences this -- and far worse -- every. single. day.

Our system is set up to bully people on bikes.
Maybe she could put it to good use by helping the local transportation advocacy group haul around some tactical urbanism supplies.
I didn't vote to raise my taxes so the city could pay for an ad campaign telling me "do something" about climate change. I want *the city* to do something about climate change. Like, I dunno, fund things that actually make it easier to walk, bike, and take transit.
Do Something
No matter what, you can do one more thing to help fight climate change.

Reason #2087 why biking is awesome: Some dude just biked past me singing this song to himself. "Golly what a day!" youtu.be/s3OUaBcA-Fo?...

Can you hear children laughing?
This is so misguided and a total waste of 💰. People don't want to walk long, twisty routes. Just make Broadway and Lincoln safer streets to cross, rather than highways through the heart of downtown.
This popped up in my fb memories from 13 years ago - it's like we were living in a different universe then. Talking rationally about important things, laughing.

DSP ED @jlocantore.bsky.social in today's Denver Post: The Trump administration's threats to withhold transportation funding "is a big problem because, in communities throughout the country and here in Denver, transit is essential for the affordability and economic vitality of our community."
Trump’s chaos threatens bus rapid transit projects in Denver (Opinion)
“Thanks to Trump’s and Musk’s chaos, it is not clear that the funding that states typically rely on for these types of projects will come through, jeopardizing the full vision and scope…

So many good quotes in this article, it's hard to pick a favorite, but here's an example:

“I had a mandatory parking minimum, even though what I was building was itself a parking lot,” Farah said. “Having to build a parking lot for your parking lot is dumb as f---ing rocks.”
Matt Farah is one of the most powerful auto influencers in the world. The Smoking Tire, his media platform, has an audience of millions.

Farah owns seven cars -- but he is also a fiery supporter of bike lanes, walkability, and upzoning.

This is the kind of local news I need right now.
A win for those who can afford to pay for big lobbying firms to advocate for their interests. A loss for the rest of us.
OK, *here's* my last piece for CPR/Denverite. Of note: the Broncos were part of the coalition pushing to keep the on/off ramps at 23rd. And they got what they wanted. denverite.com/2025/04/11/d...

Apparently, if you are experiencing homelessness, and hit and killed by a car, it's your fault. coloradosun.com/2025/04/08/c...
The weather in Denver right now is complete and total garbage. 0/10, do not recommend.

Hi friends. My amazing colleague at the Denver Streets Partnership, Adrienne, and her partner Thom are facing some steep medical expenses after Thom was hit by a car while biking home. If you can, please support them in their recovery. gofund.me/e9e76fdf

We build vehicles that weigh 9000 pounds with 1000HP, can go 0-60mph in 3 seconds and market them recklessly.

We then ask people to wear construction vests to cross the street. This is all so beyond absurd and it's truly incredible that we've normalized this.
I taught myself, and didn't realize I was doing it "wrong" because everyone did it differently than me until college, and then I re-taught myself how to do it like everyone else.
