Hi new followers, I’m a cartoonist based in Vancouver, BC. Drawn comics small-press and pro, spent time in animation and taught comic fundamentals, too. Mostly drawing stories of a satirical nature or true to life these days. Also an easy mark for almost any footage of baby elephants. Welcome!

I said earlier in the week I had to draw Godzilla, so here it is! Adorning the new sketchbook, available next weekend at the Comic & Toy Show @ the PNE. Not sure why I did that to the Harbour Center, tho. I like that place!

A page from my graphic novel The Last Band On Earth, depicting two characters, Nat and Rick, on a rooftop in a windstorm, battling an evil eldritch being that resembles a biblically accurate angel, but with bat wings instead of feathery angel wings, and several long strands of sinew stretching out from its midsection in all directions. Rick is hooking his phone up to a guitar amplifier with a dongle and searching through his files to find something loud to play through the amplifier. Yup!

An old hollowed out car, an Austin Mini, parked in a driveway. There are several stylized ghosts drifting out of it. The colour palette is entirely monochrome red, giving the whole piece an eerie atmosphere.

Deeply sad news. I have looked at his artwork since age 8 and wondered how he pulled it off. Still no answers. A great legacy for any artist, tho.

In happier news, the 1177 E. 14th tenants enjoyed a recent victory. Their longest standing resident, Terry, successfully defeated a bad faith eviction when the RTB ruled in his favour last week! The 1177 house is a tight community, which I tried to convey in an excerpt from the strip I drew in 2024.

#sketchoftheday: A digital illustration this time, based on some pictures I took at a mountain lake this summer. I kind of liked how the dragonflies "docked" motionless in the air against the reed stalks, like funky space vessels.
I'm playing a bit with new brushes.

Finally got to see how this illo I drew for the R&M comic was incorporated into the final packaging, thanks to a post on the kickstarter page for the massive box set Oni Press put together. I was trying for the look of a woodblock print by Hasui and the like. I think I topped them. Haw!
