Learn how your bicycle can average 25% easier power—unassisted. Really.
The wife is home. I've been viewing pictures from all around London for hours.

I don't think she wanted to come home.

I'm looking for a meter that can measure the power applied to the pedals. I've seen them to measure the lever.

I want to measure between the foot and the pedal. There is a pressure sponge that measures voltage relative to pressure, but I'd need a meter to record the value.

Any ideas?

It's not rocket science.

Your bent leg is less strong than your straight leg. About 40% less.

Use a lower ratio through the top half stroke, and a higher ratio through the bottom half stroke.

Use your biomechanical power curve to your advantage.

That is what Crownring does.

The wife is in London for the Dimash concert.

It must be nice to be world renowned by your first name.

Dimash, not the wife.

I showed Crownring to the local Bike shop. Wilson, quite the friendly guy, had no trouble with the physics of Crownring. He is helping to arrange testing at a laboratory to get real empirical data on Crownring.

I've not used the calorie meters because they are metered for a round ring. Not the same

If bicycles are easier to ride, shouldn't it increase bicycle participation?

With more participation there will be a need for better bicycle infrastructure.

Better infrastructure means more bicycle participation.

More riders means fewer cars and safer biking.

Bicycles are easy to park.

Why do pointy bumps on a chainring result in so much more power?

When you sit in a too low chair it is difficult to get up…until you rise halfway.

Crownring exploits that same halfway principle.

Check out my Q&A.

Going public with Crownring.

If you love your bicycle, or it's just too hard to ride anymore, there is something you should know

crownring.bike

Crownring is a new product with value, but my mission is to encourage more bicycle users, less cars, before the 2030 climate tipping point

"Are we still talking about the Epstein files? He's dead…" ~ Trump

Answer to Trump "No sir, we are not talking about the Epstein files. We are talking about how you figure prominently within them."

To be clear.

This Crownring stuff is hard to nail down, I wonder if that's why I get no responses

High stroke when the knee is bent is low ratio. Low stroke when the knee is straight is high ratio. High is low and low is high. Besides that, the high ratio is easier than the low ratio. It's all counterintuitive.

The crown. It's the whole deal. There are three practical sizes that I cleverly call 1, 2, and 3. The (2) is a good between and suits most riders. 1 adds 6 teeth between high and low, 2 adds 13 teeth, 3 adds 18 teeth

Despite the ranges they are each quite easy to power. You don't notice them at all

A chainring has teeth. The T says how much chain it draws. 48T used to be quite common. It seems 44T is taking over

Crownring has the same T measure. It is not round so needs more numbers. 44T in Crownring would be 44T/40-53(2)…a low of 40T and high of 53T. Easier high stroke and faster low stroke.

Sunday my neighbor was the first outsider to ride a Crownring bike.

He rode the traditional 48T/16 first.

He rode the 48T(2)/16 Crownring only 10 feet before smiling wide and saying in long monotone, "smoooooth."

He accepted Crownring as superior on his first ride.

Who's next?

Bad knees? Miss your bicycle?

Crownring lessens effort at the top where knee pain is most common making it easier to get going

Crownring uses the full strength of the straight leg, where knee pain is less, to increase inertia…which makes the top of the next stroke even easier.

Get your bike back.

I'm lookin into Angel Investors. I need money, yes, but I need experienced business people.

My goal; a bicycle company that features Crownring exclusively.

But I need people that know their way around people, too.

I'm looking for passion for the environment. Crownring's efficiency can go far.
July 22, 2025 at 4:56 PM
I'm going to do what I said I wouldn't. I'm going full disclosure on Crownring.

Crownring has an expression date. If I can't find allies by then I lose a lot.

It will take a few days to get the illustrations done, but hang with me. I am driven by desperation now.

I've been trying to come up with a sentence that can convey to non-mechanically minded people why Crownring works.

Crownring synchronizes human strength patterns with mechanical advantage, producing a synergy that enhances pedaling efficiency beyond traditional limits.

Does it make sense?
July 21, 2025 at 8:27 PM
I just rode around the lake on my Crownring 40T(2) demo bike. It's as fast as the 48T traditional chainring but so much easier to ride.

I can't make it on the 48T chainring. I fall over 3/4 up the hill.

Crownring is 25% more efficient than a standard chainring. That's plenty to get more bicyclers
July 21, 2025 at 3:56 PM
Minor error on the Crownring size. The black bike is 40T/36-49(2) not 34.

So many numbers…

Then, I think I'm talking to myself anyway.

Have a good day, all.

It's been a stressful few months since being here last. I found Bluesky took up too much of my time.

I filed the patent application for my bicycle drive. And I built two sets of demo bikes to compare my design, Crownring, to the common bicycle of the same model.

Sister bikes.

I watched The Jackal. I worked downtown that day, no idea they were making a movie. That monster helicopter flew over me and rattled my car. Scared the _ out of me.

I found they were filming when the street I needed was closed.

I had to park and walk 4 blocks to get to my job.

Fun to look back.

Thought; Is Trump driving this country into the ground to make immigrants want not to come here?

Odd how those that risked everything to cross an ocean to build the country are now the ones they want to kick out.

I think wealth makes people not give a damn. Or maybe lavish living kills braincells.

Our water table has been low for a couple of years.

Snow slows runoff and increases soak. Ice slows it even more.

I'll stop complaining about the current weather now.

Our yard looks like Peggy Fleming might go skating by.

I worked in the shop and plotted the pattern for my smallest Crownring. I built a custom freewheel cluster, too.

Everything is looking good for a spring demo.

So I've been busy not scrolling today. 😉
