Why is it whenever some article is like "imagine what AI could do" it's always something boring and awful. Like it's not even a limitation of AI itself it's purely on the writer. They could have come up with any idea they wanted and the best they had was, what if an actor was in a different show

So good to see a personal favourite getting its due! I’m gonna have to dig the CD out again.

I have long been obsessed with QTip’s 2008 album “The Renaissance.” I have listened to it a thousand times.

It is masterfully structured. The album ends three times. There are three “closing songs.” Each one is more positive and uplifting and spiritual than the previous one. I love it.

Godspeed, Drew Struzan. Your influence cannot be overstated.

out now:
Melvin Gibbs
Amasia: Anamibia Sessions 2

@melvingibbs.bsky.social leads an ensemble of collaborators recorded over two decades into an electronics-infused free-jazz odyssey. Part collage, part fusion workout, the album carries the spirit of Miles Davis’s Agharta into the next century.

ah RIP Drew Struzan, the greatest movie poster illustrator ever, who created one of the greatest posters in a single day with no reference material from the film.

(As well as 90% of the great movie posters from the 80s. scrolling any streaming service now makes me hate what we've lost so much)

With the AI Google summaries, people aren't just cherry-picking the failures. The only time it is 100% is when there is an extremely easy and well-known answer to your inquiry. If it's anything you'd actually need to dig to find, it will hallucinate a fake answer basically every time.

look
I'm "straight" "cis-het"...whatever terminology you want to use.
Back in the day the Broadway singer whose band I was playing in called me "relentlessly heterosexual"

In a world where most politicians won't mention trans people except to throw us under the bus, this ad from @zohrankmamdani.bsky.social is honestly such a breath of fresh air.

Life gets in the way. So we bring an interlude of sorts - a show to soundtrack the roof car park at The Trafford Centre.

I just made that up, its not true.

The Trafford Centre bit.

But you can listen to this Sunday at 6 on Reform Radio.

A “stripped down” version of “Footprints”, similar to the all-acoustic version Hugh Padgham heard in the demo cassette. Listen to the purity of Paul’s voice. All in the new book “Press to Play: That Unmistakable 80s Sound”!
