My son is one of millions of kids who benefit from an individualized education program (IEP), and who stand to lose with continued cuts at Department of Education. I shared my family’s story with columnist @heidikstevens.bsky.social. Check out her latest column and make your voice heard! #IDEA #IEP
7.5 million US children have disabilities. When you chip away at special ed, you chip away at the promise of our country. You chip away at education as the great equalizer. You chip away at our potential, our productivity and our moral character.

Heidi Stevens: Gutting special education services is a betrayal of conservative ideals and our collective values
When you chip away at any child’s ability to access education, you chip away at the full promise of our country, writes Heidi Stevens.

How is any of this making America safer?

Crueler? Certainly. Merciless? Absolutely. Heartless? We’re heading there.

It’s hard to believe that this blitz has anything to do with public safety or ensuring that people come to the U.S. the so-called right way.

This is ghoulish, and I don’t know any other way to comment on it.

Honestly, when did everyone lose their minds?
NEW: RFK Jr's purge of CDC leadership isn't shaking Democratic Gov Jared Polis' enthusiastic support of Kennedy to lead America's health policy. Today, Polis praised his collaboration with Kennedy, saying "We hope to work on making America healthier." #copolitics

MAHA isn’t about health or caring for people, it’s about creating a shame and blame structure and a market for wellness gurus and cons. Enjoy a slice of carrot cake and treat yourself to this observant piece from author @jessicacalarco.com. #LetUsEatCake #GrifterOfOz
"When I take off my chef’s hat and put on my sociologist’s hat, I can’t say I’m surprised at [Oz's] comments. The US has a long history of food shaming, particularly the food choices of people who are poor."

Holding It Together is currently ~1/2 off the regular price. If you want the backstory of how we got here--to the point where billionaires are destroying the social safety net and forcing women to be our crisis management team--I've got the book for you.

It shows how billionaires and their cronies force us to DIY society, how a DIY model traps us in precarity, and how we manage that precarity by forcing women--especially the most vulnerable--to be our safety net.
