MTG slams the Trump administration for bailing out Argentina:

“Americans are getting decimated by the high cost of living and skyrocketing insurance costs… Tell me how it’s ‘America First’ to bail out a foreign country with $20 or even $40 BILLION in taxpayer dollars.”
Have you read any of the books by Peter Caddick-Adams? British author with a great non-fiction trilogy: Sand and Steel, Snow and Steel, Fire and Steel. Excellent stuff.
Colditz fascinated me when I first read of it - in high school. I think prison escape stories resonate with teenagers especially. Something about escaping the restrictive bonds of society.
Or not.
Take a good look at this guy; does he look like he's going to hang around a Nazi prison for long?
Thirty-six POWs escaped from Colditz, showing that the Germans had no idea about the brain trust they created when they put hard-core escapers together.
On this day in 1942, British Captain Patrick Reid escaped the supposedly escape-proof Colditz Castle. Disguised as a Flemish workman, he slipped through the POW kitchens into the German yard and down to a dry moat to freedom. It took him four days to reach Switzerland.
Funny how when virtue is supposed to be its own reward, people are punished for demonstrating it.

CBS reporter Edward R. Murrow embodied what a journalist should be: someone who holds power to account instead of capitulating to it.

Over 70 years later, his segment denouncing Joe McCarthy’s congressional witch hunts rings truer than ever.

We have armed secret police kidnapping people off the street based on the color of their skin.

When we win: we will haul them before a Senate committee. The masks will come off. There will be consequences.
My first novel, ON DESPERATE GROUND, is on sale today for e-book readers in the US, Canada, and the UK. It's based on the true story of a courageous social worked in Berlin who provided medical care and documents to hidden Jews.

What he not saying is that his friends and cronies invested a fortune in Argentina since their guy Milei won, they stand to lose a big chunk of those fortunes the way things are going, and Argentina’s elections are in two weeks and we are tampering in them to bail Milei out.

Unbearably violent images from Downtown Chicago where a classical music concert was played on the Chicago River. This is too elegant and magical to be seen.
