It used to be that it was hard to imagine George Orwell type stuff happening in America but seems pretty realistic at this point. (Obviously America has done some awful stuff but the gaslighting and twisting of reality is really next level)

Something no one seems to consider when they talk about violence in Chicago (which is NOT a war zone by any stretch) is that Indiana is night next to Chicago with lax gun laws.

Totally. I honestly think that Hillary investigation announcement was just a bad decision that seemed like the right thing to do in the moment for him. Stupid but not a calculated move to help Trump. Obviously the email server was a nothing burger.

Even if they could argue he didn’t have legal status, being in the country without proper legal paperwork is only a misdemeanor. Before Trump came along you could only get fines or deportation. But they’re punishing these people like dangerous criminals without even a trial.

Vile, Wrecked & Rotten has been announced! I wrote this musical graphic novel with Steve Burns, aka “Steve from Blue’s Clues,” aka one of my best friends, and it’s being illustrated by my dude @jimcampbellart.bsky.social, whose work you might know from an obscure tv show called Over the Garden Wall.

Rob Valois at Penguin Workshop has acquired, at auction, world rights to Vile, Wrecked, & Rotten, a musical middle grade graphic novel about the misadventures of Joanie Rotten, the 11-year-old protégé of two kid-phobic composers who ply their trade in the music-loving metropolis of San Orchestropolis, by Gabe Soria (I.) (The Midnight Arcade); Steve Burns (c.), host of Alive with Steve Burns and star of Blue's Clues; and Jim Campbell (r.), Eisner Award-winning artist of Over the Garden Wall. Publication is set for summer 2027; Charlie Olsen at InkWell Management represented Soria and Campbell, and Chad Kojouri at Range Media Partners represented Burns.

I could understand if he was just moody or had a hard time processing information, but his support of the current fascism seems more deeply rooted. He’s like these comedians who turn hard right rather than admit they were ever wrong when someone calls them out on their shit.

I had problems with the old Republican Party but even that no longer exists. It’s the Trump party now. They have no interest in law or morality other than protecting Trump, his money, and whatever weird whims and vendettas he has .

If he was only performing for the people of Saudi Arabia very few people would be criticizing him. But the performance was paid for by the government responsible for murdering journalists and committing other atrocities. There would be the same criticism if he performed for Donald Trump’s family.
