Have been standing admiring my newly cleaned, decluttered and sorted living room just taking in the calmness. Feeling proud and emotional. Have been living in dysfunction for so very long.

ADHD really buggers up your life, but once you know you have it, you can get support to get your life back.

So now that my apps are starting to refuse to open owing to the fact that there hasn't been enough memory to update them for months, I guess today is the day I FINALLY transfer my precious pictures and videos from my SD card to my laptop.

My parents had a newsagents and some of the covers on this fab thread are making me very nostalgic.

Also very interesting to see how illustration has changed over the years.

Kudos for putting this all together @markbungle.bsky.social Blimey!

Had a DVD -tastic weekend while deep cleaning the living room. Finally saw Home Alone for the first time yesterday and all I can think about was how come the house was spotlessly clean and tidy when the family came home?

Doing a little dance of relief that I don't need to buy a new Shark, and it tripped the electrics and then died owing to a neglected lower filter (I'm quite good at cleaning the upper ones) combined with a pipe blockage. A thorough clean and a new fuse and we're back in business.

I have a settee in my sitting room rather than a sofa in my lounge.

Does anyone else have a settee in their sitting room or is it just me?

Singing along to Dubstar's 90s classic Stars on #BBC6Music with a huge lump in my throat.

The lyrics hit different mid-life and everyone and all that's familiar start to fall. So many beautiful shining stars.

'Morning bots.

Trying breakfast in front of my SAD lamp today. Less than 4wks to go to the shortest day and then we're heading back in the right direction.

Look at us, it's dark and miserable but we're somehow still rocking it!

Not to brag, but I had tea sitting at the dining table in my conservatory tonight. Since my ADHD diagnosis in July I have decluttered my entire upstairs, finished off my kitchen that was installed nearly 3yrs ago, resealed my bath/shower and cleared the conservatory. A diagnosis can be life changing

This happy little dink turned 3 today, so we went to Blyth beach to celebrate. We shared cheesy chips after the walk and he's just wolfed down a nice fresh fillet of fish for tea.

Happy birthday Kiko. 🥳❤️❤️❤️

Managed to jump start my car using a cheap battery charging unit from Halfords and YouTube tutorials. Result! Currently nice and warm, enjoying a latte in the Toyota lounge with the dog getting a new battery fitted under warranty. Happy camper. 😊
Wow, when hybrid cars screw up, they REALLY screw up don't they? Car's not even 3 yrs old. Have been doing a few hundred miles per wk but didn't go anywhere yesterday and my car refused to start this morning. Electrics just froze. Couldn't even get it to switch off. I just spent £300 on a service. 😭

Just in case you were in any doubt, we've properly arrived in dystopia. We've been approaching for a while but we're truly here now.

We can stop all dystopian fiction/films/games since they're pretty much documentaries at this point.

Sorry, but cars win. 'Nipping' to Halfords to get a charging unit meant taking the bus. I learnt the Arriva 'live' tracker is a work of pure fiction, highlights include freezing & slipping in the ice while juggling the dog, a 1/2 hour errand turned into a 2 hr ordeal and bus drivers aren't very nice

Of course it was too little too late. I was begging my elderly parents to stay at home and got them to agree to a kind of lockdown over a week before it was made compulsory. Anyone who could read the news about what was happening in Italy could see. Literally anyone. I was terrified.
Remembering the hit of fear as Italians I respect immensely told me in early March that "you must lock down ASAP". While the British government said these were "populist – non-science based – measures that aren't any use" and "they're who not to follow".

And tonight girls and boys we* are squaring up the alignment and correcting the compression on my hinged upvc conservatory door to get rid of the draughty gap.

#exciting

* And by 'we' I mean 'me' and the cold, dark conditions are distracting me from thoughts about possible subsidence.

Not long after it opened I did an acting summer school at LIPA. As part of the course we had a dance tutor. On the last day she found me sobbing in the studio because I didn't want it to be over. I'll always remember her earnestly telling me to 'dance it out'. The most stage school moment I ever had

Ah the joy of living on a housing estate in a power cut when a dozen nearby house alarms start screaming at midnight.

Very much appreciating my functioning boiler and 2 new radiators that I didn't have this time last year. Winter loses its sting a bit when you can cuddle up with a warm, clean fluffy dog in a cosy house.

Delighted to announce that today is Stand Up Shower Day in the Chambers residence. 🥳

After 15 months of ignoring it, procrastination and things that have gone wrong, the stone tiles now have two coats of sealant and a whole tube of silicone has been used around the bath in 2 stages & is fully cured

Got it!

Up at 4.30am. Slug was mooching about in the dishwasher.

Slug has been relocated to the patch of grass at the end of the road.

Hoping it's not a homing-slug and that its family are not partying in my drainage pipes. 🤞
I snuggled up in bed with a bowl of homemade curry, the dog and my phone last night. Fell asleep with all the lights on. Woke up at midnight to find a massive slug in the dishwasher. 🤢 Too tired to cope, so just shut the door. Opened it this morning no slug! Looked all over. Noooo. 😭😭😭🤢🤢🤢

Standing in the Coop queue feeling horrified at 85p for a Cadburys Pud and 80p for one of those two-mouthful mini cans of Coke you used to get on planes (don't know if you still can, it's been 20yrs since I was on one). Insanity!
