The rules of the road apply just as much in parking lots as they do on the road, and if you can't respect that you should turn in your license.
Do you have any extremely niche, but serious, ethical stances?
10/20 - Wolfenstein 3D

Got the shareware version of this from a friend, loaded it up, and thought we'd entered an entire new era of video games. It's hard to understand, but back then this felt like the future revealing itself before you. Bonus: you could make your own maps! #365games

Murderworld is now available!

A text adventure where you play as the 1989 lineup of the X-Men as they fight to win back their weekend. It's got several playable characters over the course of multiple hours-worth of grand adventure and superhero drama.

Anybody else remember when - on Saturday morning kids' cartoon Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles - Krang threw Baxter Stockman into a giant microwave to execute him for his failures? Fun times!
A bit more every day!
Thanks for hosting #TurnBasedThursday!

Not a ton to show at the moment, but I've got a devlog series running for my new turn-based game in development for anyone who's interested in following along with the process from the beginning! porchweathergames.com/blog/ #gamedev #indiedev

Today's Random Old Game music: www.youtube.com/watch?v=zdTP...

Stumbled onto this the other day on someone's "Halloween" list, and it's been stuck in my head ever since. Now it can be stuck in yours, too! Also led me down a fun road of discovering more of Jeroen Tel's work. #gamemusic #retrogame

Things that cost nothing - but is a HUGE help for any and all indie devs:

Wishlisting - it gives games data to show publishers there is interest.

Leave a Review - ESPECIALLY if you liked the game. Reviews on steam lead to the algo serving you up to others.

Reposting - it's an attention economy.
Decided to make an overall pretty small design change that involves redoing about half the systems I've already built.

Fun? No

Better in the end? I think so, yes.

And while I'm talking Stunt Island, let's talk about the menus in this game: not a single one to be seen! Everything is diegetic to the world of the film studio. Need to edit? Better head to Post-Production. Want to quit the game? No - you want to board the ferry to leave the island. #dosgame
10/13 - Stunt Island

Less a game than a movie-making tool, Stunt Island let you assemble vehicles and props, set up cameras, and even script out basic actions. Then you got to edit it all together with FX and music. A truly amazing little package for letting your creativity flow. #365games
10/12 - Dungeons of Dredmor

I had never really gotten into roguelikes (*likes*, not *lites*), but something about Dredmor sunk its claws into me. Maybe it was the humor, maybe it was the skill trees, but it's a game I find myself going back to over and over again. #365games
Back on my Dredmor bullshit.
Their little microwave single-serving things were a staple for me in college and also gave my wife a second-degree burn once. Very mixed memories.
Finally took the plunge and tried a rough puff pastry today. Decided to turn it into Palmiers. Lamination!
Stepped out into the backyard this morning and surprised a great blue heron. I assure you I was equally as surprised.
No devlog this week as I've been completely heads-down in getting the controller input integrated. I'll make up for it next week with an extra juicy one! #indiedev #gamedev #solodev
Integrating controller functionality earlier rather than later on the new game because every time I've tried to retrofit it, it's a huge pain.

It's still a huge pain, but least doing it now forces me to think about how the UI/UX can work for bother rather than trying to hack it later.
In today's Random Old Game Music, I don't know what exactly Monty is running from, but damn he's got a good theme song for it. #retrogame #gamemusic www.youtube.com/watch?v=4Ecg...

Suddenly remembered (for no reason) there was an episode of The Real Ghostbusters where they went to Paris and discovered the Eiffel Tower was actually an antiquated containment unit and it was spewing millions of French ghosts into the city. Now you can think about it, too!
