I’m confused. Which crimes get you deported and which crimes get you elected president? No kings in Fort Worth.

Reporting live from the Left Wing Antifa Communist Hot Bed of Fort Worth, Texas.
Look, if they/we eat waffles that are not Texas-shaped they/we get indigestion, ok?

(I’m not from TX but they keep trying to claim me since I’ve been here 24 years now.)
From a month ago. SEE I KNEW IT. 😅 I had a really weird, uneasy, vague feeling right before this trip, but like in *addition* to my usual trip anxiety. My intuition is almost never wrong.
If there was a graph comparing my level of excitement for an upcoming road trip and my level of anxiety about all the things that could go wrong before/during said road trip, the line would be the same.

Annnyway, looking forward (?) to seeing Utah again soon after about 10 years away.
It needs a glass of ice water and some time in the shade to cool down. 😅

Thank you. Yes, definitely, they have never cared for any of us, only about amassing more power for themselves. Unbelievable how many people here still think Trump is on their side.
It was really gorgeous. I mean, it was foggy/rainy the whole time but still stunning!
We knew it was probably inevitable, but he was a few years from the option of early retirement and we were hoping he could hang on at least until then.
Just got back from a 10-day road trip. While on a trail in Bryce we found out my husband was one of the 4k+ federal employees laid off last week, making it simultaneously a great trip and a really horrible one.
Yes, even from a pure pragmatic standpoint, it’s absurd to expect anyone in an emergency situation to stop and make sure they have all necessary (whatever that will mean) paperwork.
This isn’t a problem for this administration, unfortunately. Those few (if any) who have any morality left don’t have to see it with their own eyes, and the rest of them it wouldn’t bother watching someone suffer anyway. Either way, not their problem. Only a problem for people with a conscience.
So Karoline if someone arrives at the hospital, bleeding out, how does this work? They must have their papers? Does this apply to everyone? Do nurses just stand there and watch people die unless they can prove immigration status? Which papers are acceptable? Seems like the ER will be quite busy.
Makes sense. She seems like she knows her audience well, and I think I’m probably just not it.
I don’t have strong feelings about Taylor Swift either way (she’s fine, but I don’t actively listen to her), but maybe I’m missing something b/c I keep seeing people proclaim she’s an incredible songwriter and I’ve just never gotten that impression from the stuff of hers that I’ve heard.
I feel like I might be the only other person on Bluesky to absolutely understand what you’re referring to. That’s one pretty niche reference!

"DUCKWORTH: Listen, the military already has weight standards and physical fitness standards for all of our troops. And if Pete Hegseth is worried about the weight and fitness of our troops, maybe he should also apply them to the commander in chief." NPR I love her. She knows.
Oh we’re already up into the most recent episode of the new season!
Watching “Only Murders” and the amazing Meryl Streep just badly mispronounced Natchitoches. My big question is WHY did the writers choose this town when almost no one knows how it’s pronounced anyway??

Last week I was co-leading a field trip in Utah, to check out some fluvial and eolian rocks. It was exhausting but fun and forced me to think more carefully than before about complex bedforms. This is a 3D model of one of the many stunning exposures of the Navajo Sandstone near Escalante 🧪⚒️
That one’s been on my to-read list for years. I need to get around to finally reading it!
Reads from June.

“Wild Places” was terrible; didn’t realize this was a YA/teen author’s first “adult” book.

“Plunderers” and “Bullet Swallower” were meh.

“City Limits” I want to re-read because I was distracted at the time and didn’t absorb much of it.
I completely forgot about this!! Thanks for the reminder!!
