It's so loud it feels like they are in our house.
When added to the near constant music, coaches parking in our residential car park rather than the football one, party nights at the club bar. It all gets a bit tiring
Incredibly loud drumming and chanting from the Spartans tonight
When asked they have always just said it's the community - which presumably we are not part of even though we live next to it.
( And yes I did move there but until three years ago there was no drumming at games)
Absolutely. I remember in the last election when BBC ( not BBC Scotland) kept going to the Royal Mile at 10am and then were surprised when they didn't meet any Scots or any voters under 65.
A throwback here with a picture of me outside Avoncroft Museum ( recommend if you are in Bromsgrove) medieval house.

22 Oct 1589: Impatient to meet his bride Anne of #Denmark, James VI of #Scots sets out for #Norway #otd (NPG)
I use a clock on my slides as I don't like to be looking at my phone. Last time I taught in a classroom I was told that I should provide my own ( along with a chair as if you were sitting you weren't teaching).
Cool goat. Did he commit the Louvre heist?
I can tell you they mostly to my irritation and the dread of my family get those wrong.
So lovely
Michael Andrews was one of the most interesting, important British painters of the 20thC. 'Edinburgh (Old Town),' is one of his last major pictures. He decided to emulate the military engineer John Slezer's 17thC engravings by painting the south-facing aspect above Grassmarket.
I like clothes. I think historical fashion is fascinating but it's rarely about that.
I was thinking more that actual historical sites interpret their own stories through said popular history and not by challenging it ( even the clothes)
But the Tudors are Welsh? No seriously it's criminal how little history of the other nations ever makes it onto TV or even popular podcasts.
Possibly but for different reasons.
I don't think that anyone is interpreting much of the history of England or Wales through the lens of one TV show for example.

Yes I absolutely object to everything in Scottish heritage being subsumed to a historically incorrect but popular view of history.
Do you have any extremely niche, but serious, ethical stances?

14 Oct 1559: Adam Bothwell having been papally provided as bishop of #Orkney is consecrated #otd (British Armorial Bindings © University of Toronto).

He later conducted the marriage of Mary Queen of #Scots to the Earl of Bothwell & crowned James VI.
Shame it needs a PhD. Looks like a decent job for someone

Medieval English food is genuinely lovely but heavily reliant on spices and almonds
Swedes/ turnips are reasonably recent.
In what century are we drawing the line ( I suggest pre 1603 since England is a separate country at that point)?
Extremely fashionable in 1460 ish. Called poulaines or sometimes crakows.

One of my two favourite items in @bodleian.ox.ac.uk Treasured exhibition. This beautifully decorated gospel book belonged to St Margaret of Scotland, Queen of Malcolm III & great-niece of Edward the Confessor. Late 11thC. Purchased by the library in 1887 for just £6 #stmargaret #treasured #queen
