To journalists interviewing Republican officials: Ask "What is the official name of the protest taking place on Oct. 18?"

Get them to say "No Kings!" If you get the response the "Hate America" protest, ask them why they can't bring themselves to tell the truth and if they get what "No Kings" means.
For more than 30 years, I was a writer of educational materials for children. This article highlights a political development that breaks my heart (and also makes me want to puke).

If you're intrigued, or at least puzzled, by Oregon's quirky methods of protest and of handling potential conflict in Portland, check out this 1/2-hour episode on the Oregon Public Broadcasting program "Oregon Experience" about a 1970 rock festival called Vortex.

Italians have many others whom they can celebrate. Leonardo da Vinci comes to mind. Or Amerigo Vespucci, Maria Montessori, Antonio Vivaldi, Dante Alighieri, Galileo Galilei, Antonio Stradivari, Artemisia Gentileschi,...

Let's be cognizant about those whom we choose to celebrate --- and why.2/2
For the record: I'm a first-generation Italian American. I do not celebrate Christopher Columbus as a hero. I am completely on board with setting aside this day (and every day, in fact) to honor the Indigenous Peoples of this hemisphere. 1/2

Hey, @johnfugelsang.bsky.social, my local Portland-area library branch has a waiting list of 89 holds on 11 copies of "Separation of Church and Hate."

We Portlanders are trying to be patient but getting awfully testy.

Luckily, we're occupied doing quite boring things in our "war-ravaged" city.
A terrific share from a terrific pro-aging advocate!

Today is #AgeismAwarenessDay.

Two years ago, Changing the Narrative, a leading anti-ageism initiative ran brief videos asking pro-aging advocates the question "What if aging was unbound by ageism?"

Here was my answer, which still applies today.

And I'm grateful to her for including my book, AGING SIDEWAYS (www.jeanetteleardi.com/aging-sidewa...), among the pro-aging classics in the field! 2/2
I applaud @encore-janine.bsky.social for her wonderful post about what we can do to call awareness to #ageism not just tomorrow but every day. She is a stellar leader in the anti-ageism movement. 1/2
