I also call ahead when I see young kids and ask if they are scared of dogs. If anyone hesitates to either question, I leash her immediately. Having a dog is a responsibility and I get so pissed at people that don't treat it that way.
I let my dog hike off-lead. She stops and comes back on command. And I ALWAYS call ahead to people with dogs “do you want me to leash her or keep her away from your dog?” It’s not that hard to let your dog run AND be responsible.
White people are getting thrown to the ground and violently arrested too. Let's appreciate everyone's bravery and willingness to put themselves at risk.
