also I did not know that the US/NA release of Armored Core 2 came out with an awful sound glitch that happens every other mission involving helicopters (chopper sound effect constantly plays if you kill them last)

otherwise, surprised how much that so much of ps2 AC is stuck onto AC6 specifically

never got to play RRV ever, one of my rental stores i went to as a kid always had a scratched up disc out on the floor and was stuck for a week with no new game to play on my ps2 lol

the drifting technique is genuinely fucked up(endearing), but getting it down feels good over RR4 tbh

Makoto Yukimura was worried that Vinland Saga's farming arc and "I have no enemies" moment was a gamble that readers wouldn't like. I told him about the J. Cole meme from the Kendrick Lamar and Drake rap beef. This is how he reacted.

If “I have no enemies” has become a meme and people remember it, then maybe people will understand what I’m really trying to say through the story, which is that humans are immature, but we can mature. To become mature is to become kind. This is the foundation of what I’m trying to say, but it really has to be much shorter for people to remember. But it does give me hope that people remember these short phrases as memes. Then, one day, it will click in their mind what I was trying to really say in the first place.

stick with 5-6 generics and get an even amount of males/females

male: prioritize higher brave and build around physical dmg
females: prioritize higher faith and build for magic

you can exit out of the warriors den to reroll on generic brave/faith stat + zodiac sign, aim for around 68-70.

don't get too into the weeds about zodiac compatibility, it's not required for beating the game and if you want to optimize it for yourself then check for good/best compatibility with your buffer/healers.

brave/faith are much more consistent factors in a casual playthrough

i love FFT PS1, but the last quarter of that game is genuinely incomprehensible and the WotL script is so much better for what that team is trying to portray it's world and story beats as a whole.

IMO TIC is the best ver you could play if you've never played FFT before

if you've never played FFT before and you don't want to pay 50 dollars, play WotL w/ slowdown fix or FFT PS1 w/ the WotL backported.

most important "this is nothing, but man come on" change i don't like:

the "board turn" sound that plays when turning the camera in PS1/WotL is reserved for when the cpu is controlling a unit (enemy/guest) and needs to turn camera to display actions

I have very few, inconseqential gripes with this rerelease.

- wish fastfwd function exists for the original FFT in here
- game has lots of its info detailed now, but lost the ability to hit select -> highlight particular terms on status screen for descriptions on what they do
- idk my zodiac signs

the hard mode damage modifier of 20% dmg reduced incoming and 20% outgoing to you+units and the aggressive enemy ai makes this game way more fun even if you grind to get good builds early (JP distribution is increased in TIC)

they made lv 11 black mages just kill you at lvl 16 lmao

Playing FFT again with the recent Ivalice Chronicles release and dude holy SHIT it's everything I would want out of a modern rerelease of the original PS1 ver.

The english voice track alone is worth the 50 bucks to me, but the QoL pretty much eclipses the PS1/WotL releases by so much.
