At this point, I don't expect ground shaking risks in the storytelling and concepts at play in this era's X-Books, but I do think this will be a fun event. #XSpoilers

Psylocke is obviously being slotted into the AoA Cyclops role of being the principled soldier who learns the truth of what's happening and ends up joining the rebellion. Good for her! Also, why does Doug assume Bei would have killed Kwannon instead of telling what she knows? Sloppy work. #XSpoilers

This is more of a procedural quibble, because I'm fine with the story taking Magneto off the board right away to give Scott and Hank room to do more fish out of water stuff, but I don't get how Logan can possibly kill Max when it looks like he has control of his powers. #XSpoilers

I am bummed that this intro issue ends with Bei's death. She's such an underdeveloped character, and here she gets killed off mostly just to illustrate how far off the deep end Doug has gone. Doug's Large Wife deserves better! #XSpoilers

I have been very quietly reading most of the non-Logan X-Books all year, and I generally enjoy them. Age of Revelation feels very much like an iteration on AoA style stories with its setup. I'm cautiously optimistic that it will be fun. Doug as basically a DIE style Dictator is scary. #XSpoilers
