At first, the idea was to have Exlipse's body be surrounded by the one creatures they love , those that never made them feel unsafe .. Seeing them as the embodiment of the freedom they craved, as their soul is finally resting But with this info now

I read today that Butterflies eat rotten food and decayed animal bodies. Tbh i didnt know about that

That makes Exlipse's Death more sad but also hits harder
Plus that would explain more why Zunburn found the corpse surrounded by butterflies
