This. There’s a quote about planting a tree that also applies to starting something that matters to you: The best time to plant a tree was 30 years ago. The second best time is now.

An estimated 15.7 million workers use SNAP. It’s a lifeline for those in low-wage jobs.

Meanwhile, CEOs are paid 280x as much as the typical worker.

Don’t be angry at workers for using food stamps.

Be angry at the corporations paying them so little that they need them.
Husband and I are in our 50s and used to eat at Chipotle almost once a week. Then the quality went way downhill. We tried a few times at different restaurants, and it was consistently mediocre. Haven’t eaten there in over a year. If you’re going to charge that much, the food had better be good.

Ah yes girls can't understand the true meaning of Frankenstein...

Literally written by a 19 year old girl Mary Shelley.

Today, Mike Johnson will keep the House adjourned for the 84th day out of the last 96.

12 days of work in over 3 months.

With full pay and benefits.

The senate has been working, so this is not about the shutdown.

It is about avoiding a vote to release the Epstein files.

I hate even more that agents expect authors to pitch their work this way.

I love this article! What's great about lots of rejections? It means 1) you're putting yourself out there, 2) you're stretching, trying for things that may be a little beyond you, and 3) you're making yourself get used to rejection so it doesn't throw you off track.

Ooh, those green zebras are so pretty (and yummy!)
James Clear shared this quote in his newsletter this week, and it really resonated with me. I'm a bit of an introvert, but I also know I need other people. This quote is a great reminder that if we don't want to be lonely, we have to put forth effort to be in community.

#WritingCommunity Don't mock a genre simply because it's not for you.
This is the reason we have multiple genres, because there's literally something for everyone.

I want to believe that, but his base will just put their fingers in their ears and screech, “Fake news.” That will provide cover for the Rs who hate Trump but like his policies to claim there’s doubt and stick with him.

I hate how pessimistic I’ve become.
I hope you get tons of people! I'm doing a public reading on 10/18 as part of a literary festival, and I'll also be happy if anyone attends.

Hang in there. From what I hear, low attendance at signings is all too common.
That should be *former* coworkers. Stupid autocorrect.
Yep! Also the thought of de-icing them in a cold climate.
