A busy (and very green!) morning for our Green Team & DofE volunteers!

Thanks to the Edwards family for donating six trees 🌱 — Richard planted them, Bill sharpened tools, Oscar’s team cleared the gate area, and the other Oscar oiled benches.

Great teamwork all round! 💚

That is actually really good to hear. Fingers crossed!

It’s possible to live a normal, happy life in America, and it produces many brilliant, enlightened, warm, generous people. But, on some issues it remains a deeply alien, troubling, almost medieval place eg death penalty, gun rights, bigotry, religious extremism. The best and worst of mankind.
I had to read this several times to believe it - in 34 states, child marriage still legal; in 4 states, with NO minimum age- provided one parent and a judge consent. Usually girls. Often, for pseudo religious reasons, including to avoid an abortion after rape 😡😡😡. www.nytimes.com/2025/11/01/o...

Update: two of them had a bump themselves 🙄
Big tailbacks on M5. Air ambulance has just taken off. Someone is having a bad day ☹️

So a shout out to the various dickheads whizzing up the hard shoulder. We're all in the same situation, fellas, and you're gonna block the emergency vehicles. Just chill tf out

As a teen or young adult in the 1990s you had constant encounters with people in their 50s-80s who were combatants, victims or perpetrators during catastrophes of the mid-20th century

That direct link to realities of Nazism and other forms of oppression such as Stalinism or colonialism is now gone
Not me. I just don't think it's the best headline ever. They're the ones that are original.snf bring something new
Exactly. The same "joke" has been going about forever in one form or another. V tedious
It's everything, this track.
💯. I can plan for one night. The rest of it: no. Stop it
Might be wrong, of course, but I feel like this is the first time their "thoughts and utmost sympathies" have publicly been with the victims

And this isn't about "any and all forms of abuse". It's about Andrew's.

Say THAT. Bloody equivocating. Even now.
Because it should have happened years ago and where you've got (pretty much) unchecked power and privilege there always going to be this kind of horror.
By all means, but it doesn't feel like much to me is all.
Righto.

Ultimately it tho, it sounds good, but his title is just a public symbol and losing it results in precisely fuck all difference in terms of the real power and influence that's dispensed by and concentrated within this weird, dysfunctional family.

Prince Andrew to be stripped of titles and move out of Royal Lodge
King’s brother will surrender lease and become known as Andrew Mountbatten Windsor, Buckingham Palace says

Utter bullshit.

(Can't see the post, but FFS).

I heard there was a statue tall
That sneered at folk and commanded all
But you don't really care for symbols do ya
It goes like this the feet the fist
The head that fell the aim that missed
The long lost king whose name was Ozymandias
Ozymandias
Ozymandias
Ozymandias
Ozymaaaaandias
Once upon a desert sandy
As through winds the trav'ling man he
Spied the face of Ozymandy
Lying, simply lying there
Suddenly there was some writing
Pon the plinth that he was sighting
That the sand and time were blighting
Quoth the statue, "Now despair"
There was an old man you could gaze
At his works in despair in a daze
If you looked upon them
And were mere mortal men
'Ozymandias mighty', it says
Fabulous 😁👏👏
The clothes she chooses to wear and his boundaries are two entirely separate things
You'll move from wondering heartbroken or humiliated to the absolute certainty that he's a twat and he can fuck off to find his "art" elsewhere.
Happy birthday, Ro! 🥳💜
