We are like a family with an alcoholic uncle, and we make excuses for him and pretend he is feeling unwell when he is 'total besoffen'.

My other analogy is that Brexit is like a fake picture and politicians cannot bring themselves to admit that it is fake because it cost its supporters so much.

I just spent a month in Italy learning Italian and every day I was reminded of the stupidity of Brexit.

Needless to say I was the only Brit in the language school! What does that say about us as a country?

I was there - the idea that Thatcher saved Britain is a myth.

She wasted the North Sea Oil Revenues.

She sold off the council houses, and how have many of the privatisations worked out?

Yes, the unions had to be confronted, but in many ways she messed up big time.

The Single market was good.
