Having finished The Way Of Kings, I've jumped right into Words Of Radiance. It seems to be moving at a much quicker pace than the early chapters of TWOK, almost like it's just picked up the momentum enjoying it a lot.

This. A thousand times this. I think they saw Squid Game and thought it was a fun and exciting premise rather than a dystopian criticism of how the financial system and living debt can crush people and drive them towards doing terrible things just to get out of it.
I will not watch Beast Games. The show, like the man, is insanely obsessed with money to the point of fantastical idolisation. He is endstage capitalism personified. No interpersonal relationships, the focus is just the money and poor people scrabbling for it in an attempt to change their lives.
