Damn was really pulling for the Blue Jays. Hope MLB expands two more teams with one in Canada. Hope the blues can turn it around or it will be a long winter.

Home to two all time greats, Stan Musial and Ken Griffey Jr. and they share the same birthday.
The ‘family restaurants’ typically had the blandest food and no alcohol. Learned that lesson fast.
On ragbri and bike tour of northern Missouri. Mexican and any Asian food were the go to places if you wanted anything besides burgers or fried food.

In 2005, I wrote an article called "Inventing Akromiya" about how the government of Uzbekistan made up a group called Akromiya to justify a massacre of civilian protesters.

Twenty years later, the US is more like Uzbekistan, and I wrote "Inventing Antifa": sarahkendzior.substack.com/p/inventing-...
Inventing Antifa
In 2005, the Uzbek government invented a group called “Akromiya” to justify massacring protesters. Now I worry the US government will do the same.

Locking in for oral arguments on the big voting rights case at the Supreme Court.

The next two hours or so will be... incredibly bad.

It's the first Monday in October which means the Supreme Court is back in session. Here's my preview of all the cruelty and evil they will visit upon us this term.
My *cover story* in @thenation.com :)

The Supreme Court v. Democracy
The Nation’s justice correspondent previews the court’s coming term—and explains why it will never stand up to Trump.

Sounds about right
Not yet, don’t think Stevie or dolly are big enough for saddles, Delta has a bad knee but the the pup is only 5 months old and will be bigger than delta so he may be able to have a small child ride on him.
Couldn’t get a good solo shot of dolly ?

Frankly, as a journalist, people in power *should* hate me.

I don’t understand people who get in this game to kiss the ass of the powerful, instead of staying with their foot up the ass of the powerful
Finally got 1/3” rain yesterday and more in the forecast this week and didn’t have to water them for the 1st time in 6 weeks.
We planted ours this spring after 2 winters potted inside. Got 3 figs so far this year. Hope they survive the winter. Will make sure to heavily mulch before winter.
We saw them and gave words of support to the protesters and words of disapproval to the racist.

My first academic article was on the dictatorship of Uzbekistan inventing a group called "Akromiya" that did not really exist but which they used to arrest anyone with whom they disagreed under the pretext of "terrorism". Just bringing this up for no reason whatsoever!

A free and democratic society cannot silence comedians because the President doesn’t like what they say.

This is an attack on free speech and cannot be allowed to stand.

All elected officials need to speak up and push back on this undemocratic act.

The Free Speech President has now pulled two of the three major late night hosts off the air through threats and intimidation because of their jokes. Obviously I’m behind Jimmy Kimmel 100% in the face of this fascist garbage. Speech against this admin isn’t just being chilled, they’re freezing it.

“White people will not help, and Black people cannot help...”

Everything Elie writes is a banger.
Here’s my write up on the most racist decision to come out of the Supreme Court in a while. The court approved of Trump’s racial profiling of Latinos with Brett Kavanaugh saying being harassed based on the color of your skin is “common sense.”
My latest in @thenation
The Supreme Court Just Gave the OK to Racial Profiling
The court’s ruling allowing ICE to resume its indiscriminate round-ups of LA’s Latino residents can only be described as one thing.
