From the great Larry Good in today’s paper. Was anyone aware that the Mavericks gave the city a Feb deadline? This explains the city’s panic and the full court press by oligarchs.

Looking forward to Waymo’s explanation why one of their cars drove on the closed course of the Dallas Marathon 10k/5k this morning. It happened during the race. It then disabled itself pending the arrival of support. Hope this doesn’t happen tomorrow.

1. No one knows how much this will cost.
2. No one is willing to report that the two law makers who made funding possible have biz relationships with the project manager and the nextdoor land holder
3. The promised Fair Park money only fixed the cotton bowl.

I have asked 4 reporters this week if this hypothesis is right. I personally know 2 of the 4. All refused to answer the question. One indicated they were upset with the premise. Another told me to “fuck off” half seriously and half joking. Didn’t get an answer, but I received data points.
Isn’t it weird that the developers / business interests behind the city hall teardown have not been revealed nor has anyone in media publicly inquired about those interests. It probably means that their publishers have either gagged reporters or they are unhelpfully observing a media embargo.

How’s that Omni project working out 15 years later? What’s the bailout amount taxpayers are cumulatively on the hook for?

The following projects were also positioned as “saving downtown” by these ex-mayors.

Trinity Park/Tollway, Omni Hotel, HQ2, Arts District, Perot Museum, Klyde Warren Park, fill-in parks and the new Convention Ctr. Downtown office space is now 35% vacant.

Browsing through 3Q office market snapshots for DFW. CBD Dallas, the second largest inventory in our Metropolitan Complex, is at or near 35%. That’s higher than a year ago. It’s a good thing we want to revitalize downtown by adding more real estate with your tax money.

1/ One of the most important things we learned last night about the City Hall grift is that Chad West, not the mayor, is running point for City Council with help from the entire finance committee. No reporter or editor has been willing to report which biz interests are managing Chad and the CMs.

Now I understand why the Mayor no longer does his state of the city in person. He’s taking credit for things that happen in DFW (ie growth) or he’s flat out lying about the state of the city. He’s be laughed out of an auditorium. And what’s up with affected voice? This is not how he normally talks.
