Keynote at #everythingopen #eo2016 is Kylie McDevitt talking about IoT security standards and how devices are evaluated. It’s not hard to avoid poor practices.

You can watch this conference online for a small fee, btw, see https://2026.everythingopen.au/

Huge thanks to @everythingopen.au for inviting me to open the conference.

A genuinely thoughtful, engaged community, great conversations, and a reminder of why openness, understanding, and sharing still matter so much. Big appreciation to the volunteer team who made it all happen. #everythingopen

Just got back from #everythingopen (formerly linux.conf.au). Legit was asked a dozen times "is DevOps still a thing" in response to me trying to explain my métier as a systems engineer. Only reply I could think of was to use your notion of feedback between developers and the systems they develop.

Really enjoying opening keynote at #everythingopen from @kyliemcdevitt.bsky.social about experiences determining patterns in device security [weaknesses]. What's interesting is although she's using IoT analysis examples, this explicitly all applies to the compute infrastructure we build, too #eo2026
