at least from my anecdotal experience, Guerrilla War was not a game I was familiar with when it came out, and as a big Ikari and Contra fan, it would have been right up my alley

the original release of Doom on the 32x was...not great. but over the past few years, hackers have been working to fully utilize the real power of the console, to pretty remarkable effect

watching a streamer play Absolum. looks cool, but my critique is a pretty basic one - I miss when games were quiet, when the quietude allowed your mind to fill in the blanks, to wonder, to contemplate, to worldbuild in your own mind

yeah Vagrant Story is a good one to replay because it's pretty concise, at least

I feel annoyed by some of the changes i've heard about with the FFT remaster but all the other stuff i've seen people say about it convinces me it's probably actually good

there are a bunch of hacks that improve QOL stuff like text speed and fixing names and idk.

that game made such an impact on me back in 1998.

I feel like i've gotten a lot over the past few years by revisiting things I was obsessed with as a kid. sometimes they really do hold up
