Mostly about toy soldiers. Sometimes music. Occasionally a left wing rant.

3. A soon to be published TFL/Reisswitz game (eg. Midgard) or an development game that TFL/Reisswitz themselves are working on (eg. Flashing Blades)

We look forward to hearing from you.

Cheers me babber!
The only caveat is that we ask that the game you want to put on its either:

A published TFL/Reisswitz game

2. An obvious variant of a published TFL/Reisswitz game (eg. a prohibition era What a Cowboy game, Vietnam Chain of Command etc)
(we will ask you to nail these down at a later date but if you have a rough idea now that would help the planning).
If you are interested in putting on a game please email [email protected] with some details on the game you would like to put on, table size, how many players you can accommodate and whether you would like to run it in both morning and afternoon sessions, or just once...
Winter Wonder Lard VI, Bristol’s premier Lardy day will be held at Bristol Independent Gaming on Saturday 7th February 2026.

We are now looking for games to be put on to make 2026’s Winter Wonder Lard ‘too sixy for my Lard!’

Apparently old Skytrex so need to see if H&R can do a special order...
Can anyone help identify the manufacturer of these 6mm LVTP-7's (I need a couple more) - the only identifier is the code 830 on the underneath but that does not appear to be the (current?) one used by Heroics & Ros or Scotia Grendel on their LVTP's...
This just arrived in the post - the fascination with men in tights is spreading...
#ColdWar 6mm Soviet T-72 tank battalion to help liberate 1980's West Germany now completed. BMP-2's next, but having sorted through 6mm lead mountain I do seem to have enough M60A3's for a US OpFor. 6mm MERDC?... 🤔
So after all the angst caused by the first three seasons of #TheExpanse disappearing off Prime earlier this year - they are now all back...
#wip on the 6mm Soviet T-72 battalion - hopefully get them finished tomorrow…
I'm sure the Athenians had mercenary Amazonian hoplites in their army, right? Might have to rebase these for #OnBloodyGround
Doubt he'll let me use the Centaurides... :-)
Phil's been talking up #OnBloodyGround and is currently working on a Persian army. I did mention I had an used Athenian army painted over a decade back so I they might be getting dusted off... (does the curse of the newly painted unit apply of they were painted 12 years ago?)

Steve is quite shocked it's Monday again.
Some pics from an #ArmouredStorm game last night loosely inspired by part of the Battle of Beda Fomm. Despite a valiant attempt to hold back Phil's DAK until reinforcements arrived, the 8th Army were thwarted and the Germans captured 'The Pimple'...
Personally I don't think it is necessary in 6mm to go 1:1 on a section base as it can look crowded. To each their own but worth looking at this stage at putting less figures on the base to see if you think it looks better or if you are happy putting ten soldiers on a base (I tend to go with four...)
Overly thin bases on your infantry will see people pick the figures up not the base which can cause casualties... If you are using 3D prints or GHQ for armour they need the protection of a base. Also what about jeeps and small armoured cars? :-)
The difference being I suspect the miniatures were early Heroics & Ros or Leicester Micromodels* whose gun barrels were not fragile like GHQ which break if you sneeze near them or some 3D prints (* indeed LMM's were cut pieces of actual wire)
Better than having to drill out broken gun barrels...
Inspired by the @lordraglan.bsky.social 28mm tank production line I've started painting up my 6mm #ColdWar Soviets starting with a T-64 tank battalion - a mix of (mainly) GHQ with a company of 3D prints. The T-72 battalion next...
