Now playing: "Fearless" by #CrownLands (Progressive rock)

Follow-up album in May will have vocals once again! I was a little bummed their past two releases, as amazing as they are, were mostly instrumental.

Ice Age deep dive. Haven't listened to their debut in a while, but this one is quite a follow up.

Now playing: "TUNIC (Original Game Soundtrack)" by #Lifeformed × #JaniceKwan (Ambient; Chillwave; Chiptune)

I was too busy dying to pay attention to this soundtrack when I played the game. Glad I finally gave this a spin.

Perfect companion to Opeth's Damnation and to all of Piah Mater's discography. Blackgaze and post-black elements are great too.

The more people honked (in support) the louder they got. It was amazing to see.

Now playing: "Once Twice Melody" by #BeachHouse (Dream pop)

Enjoyed this one way more than I expected. Quite melancholic but the variety of instruments, sounds, and melodies keep from being overwhelming.

Now playing: "Bach Out of Bounds" by #Alkaloid (Progressive death metal + Bach)

This exceeded my expectations. Don't know much about Bach to comment on that aspect, but the Allegro stood out the most. Immediately one of my favorite live performances.

Now playing: "After Gods" by #Ligation (Death/doom metal; Noise death)

Just enough doom for me to like. Convocation influence is definitely felt. Kinda messy, but in a fun way.

Hi everyone, it's new article day. 🥰

This week, we have a new piece by Kyli Rodriguez-Cayro that examines recent anime Orb: On the Movements of the Earth, and its story's parallels with the rise of authoritarianism in the USA. It's a great read, and we hope you enjoy it.

Orb: On the Movements of the Earth and its Parallels with Present-Day Censorship
Sure, Orb is a warning against the dangers of authoritarianism. More importantly, the show represents the indelible curiosity that all people possess. It’s about the intrinsic need to understand. To know. To find meaning. To have autonomy.

How cool. Need to make time for this.
Hullo! I've now subtitled a new 80s Chinese historical film.

In Pursuit of Revenge (险恶江湖逍遥剑), an underrated wuxia film from 1989, forgotten by today but a big hit during it's release in the Mainland, featuring sword choreography by the great, actual real life sword-master Yu Chenghui!

I've had this since it released and it's been great. I've taken it on a few trips, and mostly used it at work. It's still getting updates, the user interface still sucks (complimentary), and it plays anything I throw at it. Hoping I'm able to sideload Rock Box in the future.

My favorite thing about the political YT channels my dad watches/listens is how much they swear. We need that type of energy in the nightly news.

We’ve spent months trying to resolve this through official channels and gotten nowhere.

Until this gets resolved, we are recommending that people do not use Bing.
