I am currently considering the pros and cons of purchasing a 10 kg anvil for my office.
Y'all are really owning it.
I got this earlier just because of the review about the vocalist meowing.
Now playing: "It Weighed Itself In Silver" by #Exlimitir (Technical/Avant-garde death metal)

Great big void of an album that scares me even though I love it.

Now playing: "The Ides of March" by #CaesarAugustus (Mathcore; Screamo)

A perfect companion to what I was reading in McLaren's "Life After Doom" about the importance of finding beauty in life while experiencing existential dread.

Now playing: "Tides" by #Barrowlands (Cascadian/Progressive black metal)

Best way I have to describe this one is to refer to the album title. Viola and cello helped with the immersion of imagining tides and their movement.

Now playing: "Of Erthe and Axen Act II" by #Xanthochroid (Symphonic/melodic black metal)

Their whole concept comes together so well in this second album. Great narrative, fun instrumentation, and generally pretty epic melodies.

Dear @fiadh.bsky.social, thank you for the donut recipe. Will bake them over one of the holidays.
Now playing: "Stranger Heads Prevail" by #ThankYouScientist (Progressive rock/metal)

Ocean's Fourteen better be about this.
Spectacular robbery of the French crown jewels at the Louvre today: three masked men climbed a ladder, broke a window, lifted nine priceless pieces from the Apollo gallery, got away on motorbikes. No one hurt.
Reportedly the most famous piece in the room, the 140 carat Regent diamond, was not taken.
To pass, you must answer his riddles (or give him bites). #FenrisUpdate

I shared this with my partner for that exact reason.
Now playing: "Illuminance" by #Virvum (Progressive/technical death metal)

Most tech death tends to be about cosmic entities and the like, this album is of and about the earth.

Don't blame you there. The later part (soso = bland/dull) of this compound word was something that I also had to look up to make sure I wasn't making it up.
If i remember, that's more common in Central America. Saying "soy vergonzoso" is more SFW.
Time to also fire up this OST.
For the Shadow of the Colossus story, we interviewed 14 people including project leads Fumito Ueda and Kenji Kaido, hired Gravity Rush concept artist Takeshi Oga to illustrate the cover, and put together a 10,000-word story with help from @milkman.bsky.social @shmuplations.bsky.social and others.

Good reminder to post about this one.

New article from me in the New Socialist on how AI is the aesthetic of postmodern fascism.
It's embarrassing, destructive, and looks like shit: AI-generated art is the perfect aesthetic form for the far right argues @garethwatkins.bsky.social newsocialist.org.uk/transmission...
