The Marketplace Morning Report kicked off a new series on the future Moon economy—and Interlune is part of the conversation.
What a future moon economy could look like
“The government's been encouraging companies that help provide the public services in space to also develop commercial customers on the side,” said Harvard’s Matt Weinzierl.

Today’s @semafor.com piece by Rachyl Jones captures a reality that national security and advanced computing leaders are already planning for: The future runs cold. ❄️
All the hottest tech needs to be so, so cold
Startup Interlune has signed $500 million in contracts to supply helium-3 gas to help keep AI and quantum computing devices running cold. Their next helium search is in space.

What the future?!?

That’s the name of a super-cool video series from Jesse Orrall and @cnet.com.

The latest one is a highly watchable overview of the importance of helium-3, why we need to get it from the Moon, and how Interlune is doing it.
$20 MILLION/Kg: The Resource Worth a Trip to the Moon - Video
At a reported cost of $20 million per kilogram, helium-3 could be the resource that makes travel to and from the moon's surface a profitable enterprise for businesses and governments alike. We explore...

It’s a co-dependent relationship—but in a good way!

We loved Rachael Zisk recent article for Payload Space, pointing out that to establish a long-term, sustainable presence on the Moon, we must have scalable, reliable systems for returning material to Earth.
Closing the Loop on Lunar Exploration: Material Return
The challenge of creating a complete, end-to-end cislunar economy doesn’t end with touchdown—or even with setting up shop permanently on the surface. To close the loop, material from the Moon also has...

Wait for it… Actually, don’t.

For decades, our only supply of helium-3 has come through the decay of tritium, a radioactive hydrogen isotope with a 12-year half-life.

Don’t call it a comeback

It’s been more than 50 years since humans last left bootprints on the Moon. And yes, we need to go back. Specifically, the U.S. is going back, but as @reuters.com David Doyle reports, today’s NASA Artemis Program has a commercial backbone.

7 days.

Zero chill.

Last week, Head of Product James Antifaev joined @bluefors.com leaders in Tysons, VA, at Quantum World Congress.

When they weren’t busy deciding the future of quantum (which is what happens at this event), they had a blast being IRL instead of juggling global time zones.
