🎵Albums I listened to in 2025🎵

Bringing this over from Twitter

All listened to on Spotify, unless noted
It think Absolute Batman is probably the best encapsulation of Snyder as a Batman writer. It still has his -isms, but I feel it's much more refined, where I think both All-Star Batman and Last Knight on Earth fall into his drawbacks as a writer.
Snyder's whole Batman run to me is one big sine curve to me. Court of Owls is great, the peak of the run. I can't speak on Death of the Family since I haven't read it. Zero Year is a mixed bag. I do not like Endgame at all. Superheavy is also a mixed bag.
If you take the whole middle part out of Zero Year and just focus on the Riddler stuff, it's a much better story. The Doctor Death stuff just felt like a big tangent to me.
Mainly because Shadow didn't start until 92.
By the way, I am mainly speaking early-mid 90s around just before Knightfall to maybe around Contagion. So 92-96ish.
It's kind of crazy when you look at 90s Batman, the main Batman book is probably the weakest book of the main four books. It's not even bad, but it had to compete with Legends of the Dark Knight (when it was at its peak), Shadow of the Bat, and Alan Grant's Detective run.
Peacemaker S1 average runtime per episode: 43.6 minutes

Peacemaker S2 average runtime per episode: 41.9 minutes

Those might seem very close on the surface, but the S2 average is inflated mainly due to the finale. S1 only had one sub-40 minute episode. S2 had 5 sub-40 minute episodes.
Brady’s last two years were the ultimate compiler seasons. He was averaging about 40 pass attempts a game to pad his stats.
I think Blue Prince is going to be one of those games that gets a lot of nominations, but doesn't win any awards at TGAs. It's just too niche. It's most likely going to get overshadowed by Sliksong.
How Gotham lasted as long as it did is still such a surprise to me.
Where I would differ in take out Winnick and replace him with Rucka. O'Neil is #1. Probably knock Frank down out of the Top 5.
I feel the consensus list would probably go:
Miller
Morrison
O'Neil
Snyder
Dixon
Grant
Tynion (recency bias pick)
Winnick (just off the popularity of Under The Red Hood)
I think Frank Miller would be #1, just off the strength of DKR and Year One. #2 would probably be Morrison, but O'Neil would be close. Snyder would be 4 or 5. I think Alan Grant should be up there, but I feel he gets lost in the shuffle on 90s writers and often gets overshadowed by Dixon.
I wonder, if you were to do a Family Feud type survey, who would be listed as the Top 8 consensus Batman writers of all time?
Running a reed option with Joe Flacco is straight up diabolical play calling from Zac Taylor.
At this point, I would be very surprised if the Black Flag remake and Injustice 3 weren't officially revealed at The Game Awards.
They even had games.
It's crazy looking at the massive falloff of NERF because they were everywhere in the 2000s and even early 2010s. If you were ever having multiple people over at your house if you were a preteen/teenager at that time, NERF wars were a staple.
I would probably put Legends near the middle of my Sabaton album rankings. Right abound where Carolus Rex is for me.
Mainly because the love story story between Peter and Gwen in those movies was actually good and believable. Both Dunst and Zendaya suffer from different forms of bad writing. MJ in the Raimi movies is just unlikable. MJ in the MCU Spider-Man movies has no personality.
If you look at all three Spider-Man movie couples: Maguire/Dunst, Garfield/Stone, and Holland/Zandaya, it's interesting that all three of them were dating on set during shooting of their respective movies, but the only couple that actually had good on-screen chemistry was Garfield/Stone.
