Excited to give this one a spin - Psychocandy 40th Anniversary Deluxe by The Jesus and Mary Chain (Third Man Records)

A flagrant display of consumerism, bragging about the purchase of a new version of a vinyl record that I already own on three different formats. This one includes three different pretty colors and is recorded at 45 rpm, however.

I will check those out. Always good to see classic takes on the Universal monsters. Speaking of…the beginning of the Ploog Monster of Frankenstein series was almost an adaptation.

I wish this collected the Samnee Black Widow and Winter Soldier “Gulag” story from the 2004 Captain America run instead. Those were the issues that put Samnee’s kinetic art on my radar, and they prominently feature Natasha, unlike the later run.

I ran into recommendations for Immortal Hulk on YouTube and picked it up. It’s a fun horror take on The Hulk that I am enjoying.

I don’t follow Ewing and Bennett, but I just realized Ewing wrote Zombo, one of my fav 2000 AD characters, and Bennett was the 90s artist half of Moore’s Supreme.

There is so much creativity and intrigue clearly conveyed through character design in this one panel introduction to the Cabal. What’s up with the head in a box? Dapper giant or ancient giant - how about both?

A really fantastic month in comic books. All of these were great - I think Garth Ennis and Becky Cloonan’s “The War” just might be my favorite Ennis story and I am glad it got a second chance outside its original anthology release.
