Free trade comes with trade-offs and sacrifices, and one of those big sacrifices was manufacturing jobs. That destroyed the Democratic Party coalition.

But other than that, what, pray tell, @mattyglesias.bsky.social has the American right been correct about?

We are thrilled that the #Illinois Assembly passed the #CleanSlate Act today! This vital piece of legislation provides for automatic record sealing for most nonviolent convictions, giving real second chances to those who have served their time. www.wcia.com/news/illinoi...

Illinois can and must do better for its people. Our deepest condolences go to Sonya Massey's family as they grieve their loved one and continue to seek justice and accountability.

This case underscores the need for a strong state police officer decertification system to ensure problem officers are discovered and removed, rather than allowing them to move from department to department and escape consequences.

Sean Grayson, who has a history of officer misconduct, should never have been in a position to be in Sonya Massey's home responding to her calls for help.

Sonya Massey was a daughter, a mother, and loved one who called police for assistance and was met with horrifying brutality. But this murder never should have happened.

Yesterday, Sonya Massey's killer Sean Grayson was convicted of second degree murder.

A U.S. Supreme Court decision is raising concerns about racial profiling in federal law enforcement as immigration raids ramp up.

But locally, advocates said discriminatory policing is nothing new. And some worry the high court’s ruling could potentially impact local policing. to.wttw.com/46MDxOw

By ending cash bail, Illinois has begun to level the playing field. Pretrial release should be determined by a number of factors, none of which is how much money the accused has available to them.
