Absolutely understand. Have done that plenty of times "hmmm, the color doesn't look quite right, let's try black & white" 😎

Nice!

I like the black & white.

Decided to give one of my somewhat similar (well it has a saguaro cactus in it anyway) shots the same treatment.

This is from the Salt River on Sunday.

Here in southeast Arizona is one of the few places in the United States that you can see them. Apparently they are relatively rare north of the Mexican border.

For today's #BirdOfTheDay I'm going with the alternate theme of #YellowEyes.

I do have plenty of pictures of Warblers, but this Yellow-Eyed Junco is such a cool little bird.

I also sometimes take pictures of people. Lots of people fishing at the salt river this morning. This guy caught a trout.

I was actually taking pictures of wild horses today, but can't resist clicking the shutter for birds when they come in front of my lens.

For the #BirdOfTheDay theme of #MrandMrs I actually have a shot that I took today.

This Mr. and Mrs. Mallard duck kind of got photobombed by a pied billed grebe (which I may or may not have initially thought was their baby)

We were lucky enough to see wild horses at the salt river this morning. Still going through my edits, but so far this is the best "action" shot.

This hummingbird visited almost the same time everyday. The rose of Sharon nectar must be tasty!

For the #BirdOfTheDay I'm going to go with the alternate theme of #silhouette primarily because I looked and looked and I just don't have any good pictures of birds on wires.

In the end, the threat of rain was a bit too much to overcome, so we just spent a couple of hours at the Gilbert water ranch.

Actually we are not far from there.

At Toka Stick golf course watching a cross country running race.

But we will likely go hiking later.

Not sure what trail she's going to pick, but it's not impossible we end up right where you're at.

The #BirdOfTheDay theme today is #shadesofgrey any bird with grey in their colours and the alternative is #beakopen.
#birds #photography #EastCoastKin

The Barred Owls I see are usually in dark areas of the forest and have many #grey shades in their feathers.

How could I not go with the Gray Hawk? wildlifearchive.substack.com/p/gray-hawk

I'm going with the #BirdoftheDay alternative theme of #ducklings. These tiny babies are Fulvous Whistling Ducks. The parents were extremely protective - fiercely driving away any bird that approached.
