Attended a friendly Friday queer-together to watch the first half of #HeatedRivalry S1.

(even got a sticker to commemorate the occasion)

Really impressed with the show so far! Horny, dramatic, features some of the best faux-Russian I've ever heard and uses sex as a genuine storytelling tool.

Lucasfilm Games be like:

So, KOTOR is back. Racer is back.

We are one new Kyle Katarn adventure away from Lucasfilm Games fully reviving the early 2000s vibes.

Bled over the side of the bathtub and somehow didn't even notice it.

Good thing I'm not sharing my apartment with a vampire.

What 5 events defined your childhood?
(teenage years also count as such)

1. October coup, 1993 — Mom used to hide me in the bathtub when tanks passed by our building
2. Financial crisis and default, 1998
3. Dubrovka hostage crisis, 2002
4. Russo-Georgian war, 2008
5. Bolotnaya protests, 2011

Of all the projects in this picture:

• 9 projects got released
• 5 got renewed for further seasons (spin-offs, too!)
• 3 are still in development
• 2 got cancelled

But somehow people pretend Lucasfilm's run in the past five years has been disasterous. Go figure.

Somehow I've returned to musical YTPs and can't help but think that they've become so much more resonant (for lack of a better term) in our AI-infested times.

Just pure, gleefully nonsensical HUMAN creativity.

Gee, Russell.

It's almost like moral degradation of the Roman Empire that erodes even the protagonist who was supposed to save it is THE WHOLE POINT of the film.
Russell Crowe slams 'Gladiator 2'

"[It's] a really unfortunate example of even the people in that engine room not actually understanding what made the first one special ... It wasn’t the circumstance. It wasn’t the action. It was the moral core"

Slept on it.

Came to conclusion that, in year 2025, misanthropy is kinda repulsive to me. It's a refusal to engage with the world that's hurting.

Lines between good and evil have never been clearer, yet here's a movie that shouts: "You are both mad, cruel weirdos! Just leave me be!"
What frustrates me is the suggestion that Michelle's perspective is warranted. That she actually cares for the planet – and, in her extremes, is not unlike Teddy. Perhaps, even better.

So is #Bugonia this year's #CivilWar, both-siding a very real discourse from a position of privilege?

I'm unsure.

I honestly don't know what to think of #Bugonia, other than that it was a deeply uncomfortable experience.

Intentionally so.

Maybe.

Took me seven months to realize that the entire opening of #FinalDestinationBloodlines is a literal needle drop.

Such deviously brilliant movie.

I keep thinking about how 3 out of 10 highest grossing films of this year were released by Warner Bros. Should the Netflix deal come through, it'll likely shove them back to COVID-era release strategy – and grosses, too, which will cripple the cinemas.

How can anyone do that *willingly*?!

Well, look at that! 🌟

Our film got a nice little diploma from the Kinoproba film festival in Yekaterinburg.

Couldn't be happier for the entire team led by our fearless director Anna Kerova.

I care about deeply about movie theaters. They're a vastly preferable experience to me

Theaters are cathedrals to cinema. Films are sermons of human empathy and the artists behind them are gospel preachers delivering keen insights of life

It's impossible to get that at home with its distractions

Netflix has officially bought Warner Bros. for $82 billion.

It's a dark, devastating day for the theatrical movie experience and the art form of cinema. See the full press release, in which "theatrical" is mentioned merely once:

A fun little artifact for @xwinggameseries.bsky.social 's collection — a review of X-Wing vs TIE Fighter in Russian!

(Страна Игр / GameLand #15, August 1997)

Featuring classic traits of early Russian VG magazines, like the dense, colorful layout, and the inclusion of non-translated English terms.

Saw someone claim that #Mickey17 doesn't feel like a 2025 film, and-- huh?!

Mickey 17, Superman, OBAA, The Long Walk, The Running Man, No Other Choice – all contribute to one sprawling, quintessentially 2025 commentary on our real-life slide toward fascism and the inhuman nature of hypercapitalism.

Finally caught up on #Frankenstein.

I feel that, much like Spielberg, GDT has now ascended to a certain level of filmmaking where his movies seem deceptively simple, their language familiar, their meaning clear.

We forget how incredibly hard it is to achieve such simplicity.

I can't quite put my finger on it, but the style here feels distinctly... inhuman.

My first contact with Stoppard's work was in the late 2000s, joining my family for a full 10-hour production of The Coast of Utopia at the Russian Academic Youth Theatre.

It revolutionized my idea of what theatre can be and how our history resonates around the world.

Farewell to the great master 💚
