Annibal of Coconas is kneeling under the glow of a bright star (the 1572 Supernova) ; kissing and holding tightly the head of his dear friend and lover, Hyacinthe of La Mole. La Mole's head is separated from his body, and a pound of blood lies under Coconas knee. They both got sentenced to execution, and La Mole was killed first.

Around the illustration, a french sentence which translates to "rest well Hyacinthe, you suffered enough" (note: thats not the exact translation, the exact would be something around the lines of "you suffered so much" )
