If you’re currently in a state of collapse, flat affect, post melt down exhaustion, partial or total depletion of emotional processing, or similar and can’t get into therapy, it’s best to start with bottom-up regulation activities you can do in almost any situation.

That is, the children who were not newborn infants born there, for whom there are no bodily remains.

When will all the relevant intergenerational trauma be addressed?

The fact that protests now feature people who don’t normally have to worry about what might happen to them in an adverse encounter with security forces is a HUGE DEAL.

It means that the “real” victims don’t have to suffer alone. It means that some people care about something more than themselves

A 13-year-old boy was arrested by Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents in Everett after an interaction with members of the Everett Police Department and sent to a juvenile detention facility in Virginia, according to his mother and immigration lawyer Andrew Lattarulo.

The boy’s mother, Josiele Berto, was called to pick her son up from the Everett Police Department on Thursday, the day he was arrested. After waiting for about an hour and a half, she was told her son was taken by ICE, Berto told the Globe in a phone interview.

“My world collapsed,” Berto said in Portuguese.

From the police department, the boy was taken to ICE’s holding facility in Burlington on Thursday evening, where he spent a night before being transferred by car to the Northwestern Regional Juvenile Detention Center in Winchester, Va., on Friday morning, his mother said. The juvenile facility is more than 500 miles away from Everett.

The boy is a 7th-grader at Albert N. Parlin School in Everett, his mother said. The teen and his family, who are Brazilian nationals, have a pending asylum case and are authorized to work legally in the United States, Lattarulo said.

I followed in the footsteps of my Navajo forbearers, the Navajo code talkers & joined the Army. I served so others didn't have to. All I'm asking is a little daily assistance until I get housed again. Any other state, my disability would be enough, but I'm in CA now, my native home. It's not enough

Please follow and share my cousin, she’s going through so much and holding on. There are so many homeless and nearly homeless (me, again) Natives I know all over the place. We are homeless or housing insecure on our own lands.

There was this creek my son and I used to cross on a secret bridge when we’d walk to downtown in Salem, OR years ago. A few book sized pieces of rectangular cement were among the boulders the water rushed around. We used to pretend these were hidden treasure location clues as we noted them.

It’s surreal af to put even just myself in such a position of total exposure from the inside out. Not as a trauma dump but as a revelation of life depicted far more intimately than typical re-telling.

I still step back and think, “Unhinged af to do this? … Yes, very.”
